Re: AGA July 2011 minutes
I am still very curious to know what sort of mix up led to the aga forgetting to send a u.s. Rep to Korea. Are these minutes a sign that we will never be told the real story?

Re: AGA July 2011 minutes
I'm still dying to know as well. It's a curious problem to have given how short the chain of responsibility for this item was. When I was tournament coordinator the procedure was that Korea would send an email to the president with an official invitation and forms, the president would pass it along to me and then I would forward it to the representative, who would then complete the form and send it back to Korea.jts wrote:I am still very curious to know what sort of mix up led to the aga forgetting to send a u.s. Compared to some other tournaments the KPMC is easy to keep straight--it's the top placing eligible player in the previous US Open. There just aren't (or at least weren't) that many steps for things to go wrong.
If anyone is a betting person, the next dispute may focus on the WAGC. Francis Meyer was clearly the top placing US citizen in the 2010 US Open but wasn't awarded any WAGC points. It will disrupt all the point distributions for the next five years and may actually affect the selection of a representative.

Is it possible that someone was chosen as USA rep. but backed out at the last minute and a replacement rep couldn't be found?jts wrote:I am still very curious to know what sort of mix up led to the aga forgetting to send a u.s. Maybe the email went into a spam folder?jts wrote:I am still very curious to know what sort of mix up led to the aga forgetting to send a u.s. Rep to Korea. Are these minutes a sign that we will never be told the real story?

It was stated the the fault was the AGA, not the rep.gowan wrote:Is it possible that someone was chosen as USA rep. but backed out at the last minute and a replacement rep couldn't be found?jts wrote:I am still very curious to know what sort of mix up led to the aga forgetting to send a u.s.
