stat tool, a tool where u can download your games to analyze them or to put them into databases, a tool that tells you stuff like your longest winning/losing streak etc.

There are some tools, but not really good ones.

Anybody here to change that? (Don't ask me, I cannot *g)

It nice, but it doesn't count all my games from about 10 years, I can't download all my games at once, there are no deeper stats like streaks (most games played on a day, most consecutive losses, ...).

Contacting the creator of that site is probably a much better shot than trying to get WMS to do it. WMS has his hands full as it is.

Why do you consider streaks to be interesting information?

I think many players would be very unhappy with such a tool if the acts of many people downloading years and years of their own games affects the connection quality of the server especially when many high dans play mainly blitz games.

Here is a link to KgsStatistics, an open source (GPL v2) Java program that does the download and some statistics.
Maybe it can serve as a start for any prospective coder.

Pippen, KGS is already settled, i.e. we cannot expect major improvements any more. But your suggestion may find thankful acceptors at the new server Kaya.gs.

There u go :).

I think you are right. But somehow it's possible to download all your games at once - at least I heard it. There was also a former program that worked fine (from joncol), but isn't available anymore (see: senseis.xmp.net). I think WMS would appreciate a good stat tool, because it would seperate KGS further from its competitors.

I think that page is the closest to it, and I think it only allows you to download a month at a time.

I wouldn't mind a really comprehensive stats page, though. Really, it's more like trivia, but just like any trivia, it can be really interesting (and really motivating).

A good tool would be server agnostic, unless I'm missing some sort of subtle issue that prevents it. There could be a decent amount of of work for server specific stuff, but you could just write that as separate modules for data gathering/formatting, that feed into the processing, making it easy to extend the tool.

You can always write a script that manages the downloads...

Did anyone read my privious post?

KgsStatistics is an open source Java program that does download all the monthly compressed games files of specified KGS accounts.
These compressed files are stored in the programs cache folder. I tried it right now and it seems to work. http://senseis.xmp.net/?Jseki

The creator of KGS is currently working on an HTML based client, so that's not fair to say.

Is that true? Where do you have that information from?
