I apologize for the delay. Thanks for you patience
I have to just bite the bullet and recognize my loss here. I was trying something new and it turned out to be terrible. Lesson learned If I was playing IGS game, I would probably try something crazier, but I can't afford it against topazg in malkovich game. |

I saw in pro and strong ama games recently and wanted to try it myself. I believe was a big mistake because of white's stone @K4. If it wasn't there, my move would make much more sense. I won't try new stuff just for the sake of trying new stuff next time :-/ |

I chose to descend here instead of connect after all. I was contemplating the connect because of the cut threat:
Whilst the cut is interesting, it's not ultra awesome really, and I dislike the fact he can make me somewhat concerned about my situation by descending at . I have the ladder to the top left, so he has to suck it up a little bit, but to be honest the thickness still works nicely for him:
All this sort of thing makes it tricky to get a good result in the top right, so it's hardly terrible for Black. Still, I'm pretty happy with the lower side right now. |

This is huge sente for both of us, nobrainer. |

So, I'm hoping to get sente now for O17. |

19 looks like aji-keshi. Black doesn't really need it immediately and it removes ladder potential along with strengthening white's position on the bottom. |

I would like to play at all the numbers right now, but topazg may notice that many moves

Easy does it. I can't easily wedge between those stones because my corner stone is isolated. If I fix now, it becomes easier to do later, and I've invested too much in the bottom edge to tenuki it completely I think. |

I hope it protects C8 enough and reduces his upper left corner. I wanted to play a or b, but I don't know how to deal with C8 next, if he chose to play it. I expect him to approach at a and I'll probably again try the reply at c, this time with some support from J17.

Regarding the shape on lower right, I managed to get a game against a YC 9d on DGS at 6 stones and had a transposition to the same shape after the cut. I think the result currently is good for me (though I suspect a few more moves may change my mind :p). I think for the cut to work there has to be a working ladder as well as support on the side that will get pressed down by white. |

After a lot of thoughts put into this, I'm going with my feeling and trying something new for me. Low pincer and the diagram were other possibilities in the end with . Topazg getting sente worries me, but I still believe that it's necessary.

I also considered jumping into the corner, which may have been superior, but I think his pincer leaves O17 with a lot of aji, and this side still seems more interesting to me now as Q10 is high. |

This looks like an overplay to me. I can't understand why he played it. He may think he's behind (no way ) or he just wants to mess with me because I'm weaker. Anyway, he has two superweak strones inside my huge influence. I need to come up with a move that attacks both of the stones at the same time and doesn't leave any unnecessary aji. Quite a challenge. |

Ok, this is the side I want, I should be able to live here ok I think, but there's some complicated reading if he hanes and then descends:
