Using OS X 10.11 -- found ~/Library/Application Support/Sabaki, but removing styles.css doesn't do anything, as it's recreated each time Sabaki is launched. It's blank anyway, perhaps this isn't the right way to remove the realistic style?

Also found the game library is reset each time; games that have been added haven't been moved, but don't show up under "manage games"

Would be great if Sabaki copied and stored the added games or sgf files in an own folder. so it wouldn't matter if you move the original sgfs. all neat and clean then

Yes, style.css will be created, but if style.css is blank, Sabaki won't change the default styles.

You seem to have the wrong idea of 'Manage games'. It's not for building your own game library, but to save multiple games within one SGF file. Sabaki is a SGF editor after all, not a database. You can of course create a SGF file with all your games saved within that file; loading that file will also load the games saved within.

I'm afraid Windows Vista is not supported.

Keep in mind that games in 'Manage Games' are tied to SGF files.

1. open sabaki
2. manage games
3. add existing game
4. i chose a sgf file (i tried kogos joseki sgf and several games i downloaded from gogameguru, ogs and kgs)
5. close sabaki
6. restart
7. manage games
8. no games are in the library

i want to try and completely delete sabaki and reinstall it.
is it enough to remove the %appdata% folder and the folder that i unzipped sabaki to?

i would love to have sabaki as my studying library

As written above, Sabaki is not intended as a game library manager. However, you can do the following:

1. Create a new file
2. Add games using 'Manage Games...'
3. Save file in your favourite place, such as 'library.sgf'
4. Next time you want to have your saved games ready, open 'library.sgf'

Don't forget to save the file every time you add/remove games. Also keep in mind that the loading of a file takes longer, the bigger your file is.

To deinstall Sabaki it suffices to remove the folder you unzipped to. To remove all settings you have to remove %appdata% as well.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

Okay so i must have missunderstood the MANAGE GAME menu. It looked like a library thingy to me. No plans of extending the functionality in this direction? :D :D :D

@yishn any plans to add an auto-play feature for viewing sgf files with different speeds?

Did you know you can click and hold the down button on the slider to "scroll down" the game? The longer you press, the faster it will be scrolling.

I didn't know that but i was thinking more of a PLAY button and then it shows move per move in a preset Intervall. Lets say between 5 and 20 seconds vor something like that. So you can watch a kifu free hands

Hi yishn,

Thanks for all your work on an SGF editor.

Basic user questions:

I'm testing Sabaki on Windows 8.

(*) Is there a "menu" bar ? I mean buttons for the most common tasks:
Open, Save, Navigation ( Next Move, Previous Move, Jump to Start node, Jump to End node, etc. ) ?
Attachment:
win8.jpg
win8.jpg [ 177.75 KiB | Viewed 599 times ]
(*) Ctrl+Shift+F toggles Full screen.
Once Full screen, if the user forgets the keyboard sequence, is there any visual button or method to get out of full screen mode ?
( Example: a common custom is the Esc button, on Windows. )

(*) Currently, when I replay an existing SGF, there is no stone click sound on each move (even with Sound Enabled) --
could this be an option ?

(*) Is there an option to Enable/Display the display of the terms (e.g. Hane, One space jump, etc. ) ?
Attachment:
term.jpg
term.jpg [ 11.5 KiB | Viewed 598 times ]
(*) Is there a keyboard shortcut to toggle Coordinates ?

(*) Some of the terms displayed are unusual.
Example: 'Stretch' -- usually, we use 'extend' ( or 'descend' or 'drop' for certain cases; and others ).
Example: 'Attachment' -- unusual -- usually, we see 'attach' in books, or game commentaries, etc.
Example: Usually, we don't call this shape a '2-point jump':
Attachment:
unusual_term.jpg
unusual_term.jpg [ 20 KiB | Viewed 597 times ]
It's just a direct jump into 3-3.

(*) Up arrow for Previous move and Down arrow for Next move and Previous move may feel unnatural for some people --
I understand this may have to do with the shape of the game tree displayed --
could this mapping be made a user setting ?
Example: Left arrow for Previous move, Right arrow for Next move, etc.

Thanks.

I created an issue for this feature request.

EdLee wrote:

Yes there is, right beneath the title bar where the menu bar is normally located.

In full screen mode press the 'Alt' key to show the menu bar, then choose 'View' > 'Toggle Full Screen' in the menu. I should probably let people exit full screen by pressing 'Esc'.

When navigating the SGF file, there won't be a stone click sound, as it makes no sense. There will only be sounds if you click/touch the board.

No, but I see there should be.

Not yet, please tell me what keyboard shortcut you like. Take a look at the menu for shortcuts that are already in use. 'Ctrl+C' cannot be used for obvious reasons, 'Ctrl+Alt+C' toggles the GTP console for now.

I'm not sure who 'we' are, but there are certainly people using 'stretch'. I tried to name the moves as independent of orientation and location as possible. Please do tell me what other terms you find unusual.

My, I can't keep up with the responses. :)

I'd say you're nitpicking. These terms are not terribly different. I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm pretty sure 'attachment' is the noun form of 'to attach'.

Yes, you're right. Unfortunately, there is a limit what a simple shape recognizer can do. But you can always edit the title of a node to have your custom title displayed there.

Not the OS Text menus. But a Buttons menu; example:

When navigating the SGF file, there won't be a stone click sound, as it makes no sense.
It may make no sense to you, but it makes a lot of sense to some other people.

It depends on our way of thinking, or frame of reference.
If we replay a live broadcast of a game, even though it's a replay, the stone sounds don't suddenly disappear. They still come with the moves:
Similarly, if we replay a game on a real board, as we place the stones, we still hear the sounds, even though it's a replay of a previous game.

Later, you may add a feature to auto-replay an existing SGF.
Some people may enjoy the stone sounds, others may not.

Thus, the request of an Option.

Of course, it's your product; it's up to you.
These are all feedback from a Go apps user of 14+ years.

Thanks for the consideration.
A Button would be nice, too -- example: the right-most button:

gIgo used Alt+C to toggle coordinates, which I find a little awkward.
Go Panda uses the single letter 'c' directly ( if the hotspot is the board ).

If and when a toggle for the terms is available, I'll Disable the terms by default.
I understand the terms could be useful for certain learners.
I'm only providing feedback to you and others users who find the terms useful -- they are not for me.

Yes, I know attachment (n.) and attach (v.).

I understand the pattern recognition may become increasingly difficult.
These are merely suggestions. :)

We'd probably call this move a Turn :
