I played as black in this game, I barely survived in the bottom right corner and I had 20 stones that appeared to be dead but at the end of the game I put a group of stones in atari and then connected to what was supposed to be a dead stone, after doing this my opponent resigned. I feel like I just got lucky though cause I would've lost if I didn't have that one lucky stone at m11. I don't feel like this was really a win in my book but what do you guys think?

Hi Tak,

:b4: White ignored your :b2: approach.
Did you consider a double approach ( F16 or F17 ) ?

:b6: Where did you pick up this attach move ?
Did you see other people play it, or is it your own ?

:b8: B17. Study the local variations if you hane B17.

:b10: Did you consider B17 or D15.
What's the significance of B17, and of D15, locally ?

:b12: Did you consider F2.
What's the significance of F2, locally ?
If you hane F2, what can W do, locally ?

:b16: Study the cut at G5.
If you don't cut at G5 ( after your exchange :b12: - :w15: ),
suppose W fixes the G5 cut ( say, tiger's mouth G6 ),
now look at your two moves :b12: and :b14: -- what are they doing ?

:b18: Did you consider R3.

:b20: R2. ( Re: :b8: ; same questions as :b6: . )

1) My most persistent impression is that you play the first line too soon, and you save first line stones too often.

2) You should have done even better in the lower right corner than you did. Black 72 at S5 kills white.
Have a look at http://senseis.xmp.net/?BulkyFive. It occurred twice in your game. Black 184 at A6 kills also.
