Go to a visible place. Make a sign. Use 9x9 boards. Offer a 10 minute lesson and a 10 minute game. Give 5 stones. Let them win. Be a new friend. Find a regular location.

Here is more information and advice from the AGA about starting a club.

There are also a lot of handouts / flyers including printable boards of sizes 5x5, 7x7, and 9x9; simplified 1-page rules; sample press releases; advertising and display.

You can look at what I put in my Go Box.

If you're an AGA Chapter, you can take advantage of some AGF offers just for AGA Chapters.

The AGA's E-Journal will also run a classified ad for you to all their subscribers.

I hope this helps!

Coby,

I suggest fliers, especially in libraries, colleges, used bookstores, high schools pizza places etc... Sometimes just having the set out when friends come by an offering to teach them. Never know who will catch the bug.

Perserverance, patience and pretty girlfriend who will be willing to introduce strangers to the game and you got it made.

Goodluck!
