I'm in Tokyo for a while and looking for suggestions of any Japanese books I should get for sdk/low dan range, there is a lot available at kiin and I can only understand basic japanese
I already have some of the kiseido standards like tesuji/a&d/fundamentals of go takemiya/graded go probs

Additionally, suggest study materials for mid-game, maybe similar to a&d ?

Cho U Tsumego and the Nihon Kiin's Dictionaries on Life and Death and Tesuji are a pretty good start.

The Book to Increase Your Fighting Strength at Go has been highly recommended here and elsewhere.

It's out of print so slightly harder to find.

I had it sent by Amazon.co.jp to the hotel. You might also find it at Akashiya Shoten, the second-hand Go book store in Jimbocho.

I highly recommend both ways of doing that as well.

Arashi no teknikku by Yamada Kimio 9p might be interesting. It covers common invasion points in corners and erasing points. Very clearly written and not just a "dictionary". It was published by "Mai Navi" in 2015.

Here is a new book on the middle game that got a 5 star review on Amazon Japan. 中盤で差がつく必殺の手筋 (囲碁人ブックス)

A book on honte by Otake that got two 5 star reviews on Amazon Japan. 最強囲碁塾 本手指南

It's hard to go wrong with Otake's books. :)

A two volume set on attacking and reading strength by Kato, with both volumes getting 5 stor reviews on Amazon Japan. 攻めの構図、読みの力

You can buy this book in a PDF version from mynavi: https://book.mynavi.jp/ec/products/detail/id=41277

I like that the Google Translate translation of the title is "Techniques Of Vandalism." :)

Even though I know where it is, I often had trouble finding it.

I found the store easily
They didn't have any of the listed books but I asked them for a shodan tsumego book
Got a 900y book for 600y so a good deal
The store has thousands of go books, some of them decades old, copies of old ishi press English books too

It is a used/old book store so probably doesn't stock books currently in print. However, it is a great place to find old collections of records of games as well as problem books, which don't become obsolete.

For the OP, in the second image the fourth book from the left on the top shelf is a middle game problem book by Hashimoto Shoji :)

To the extent your budget allows, I would also buy any Kiseido book you think you will ever want at the Nihon Ki-in.

The prices at the Nihon Ki-in bookstore are 30%+ cheaper than the prices listed on the Kiseido website.

「荒らしのテクニック」

The new Google AI (browser version) now gives "Vandalism technique".
If anyone has a more professional translation,

Code:
囲碁に荒らしのテクニック    Tampering techniques in Go
囲碁で荒らしのテクニック    Tampering techniques in Go
For fun:
Code:
国境の長いトンネルを抜けると雪国であった。
1. It was a snowy country when I passed through a long tunnel in the border.
2. The train came out of the long tunnel into the snow country.
Kokkyō no nagai ton'neru o nukeru to yukiguni de atta.

Naturally, arguments ensued.

i think arashi can be kind of similar to an invasion in some cases. like when the opponent has a shape that looks like it will become his territory, but you invade, break it up, and turn it into your own territory.

i haven't used this word much, though, so i could be wrong.
