I doubt that there is any conspiracy going on, but it's probably better for Google in terms of taxes if Google gives $1,000,000 to charity vs. giving it to Lee Sedol. When companies give to charities, they usually get some pretty nice tax breaks. I don't even understand my own taxes that well, though, so I may be missing something. |
