ys or so, I get a pop-up to rate the app.

I'm sorry for this, it shouldn't display the popup now (or just once).

Occasionaly I turn my phone to the side without actually wanting to do so. When I tilt it back in an upright position the position of the board is not the same but with more of the board visible or upside down. I'd appreciate it if the board looks the same as before.

This will be fixed soon, thanks for reporting it :)

I thought about it but this requires a server and quite a lot of work for a "simple" feature, so it's currently not one of my priorities. But if you find a problem with incorrect solutions, you can just tell me the problem number by email and I will be glad to fix it.

I don't think this is merely a feature. The ability to improve the problem corpus is an essential use-case for any amateur (i.e. not curated by a pro.) problem collection.

Also, I'd seriously consider removing the 'rate-my-app' screen altogether. Every time I encounter such a screen, my first instinct is to go give the app the lowest possible rating citing the 'rate-my-app' screen as the reason. With me, app developers are lucky because I do not give ratings, as a rule, but I know many, many people who feel like this and do precisely that.

You're right, it may be worth the time. I will think about it.

I agree with you, but it's almost required to have the app appear in the search results. Google Play uses the app rating and the average number of users who rate the app per month to decide which apps will appear first. That's why so many developers use this popup (80% of the ratings comes from it), even though they know it's annoying for the user.

I don't understand your English. Did you mean "I think it's not correct in the app"? If you think there is a mistake in that problem whose screenshot you posted and black can't save his 3 stones then you are wrong, he can. It's a clever tesuji.

Sorry...

Yes, you can kill the stones. But the sequence that is suppossed to do that, it's marked as bad variation.

And the sequence which the program says is good, doesnt works.

Excellent app! I can comment that after trying out 5 similar apps this is by far the best tsumego app on google play :) Thanks for the work Dalmas

One suggestion: if we find problems with solutions that may be inappropriate, rather than just sending you an email and wait for a fix, could you allow the possibility to let the user manually delete/unactivate the problem so that it won't show up on the ranked "progress" games?

Cheers
k

The latest version of Tsumego Pro (2.31) now has a feature to report an invalid problem directly in the app. Thanks to Charlie for the suggestion.

With this new feature I should be able to fix problems more quickly, so I hope this will not be required. :)

By the way, if any one of you is interested, I published a chess problems app very similar to Tsumego Pro. It has some new features but you will see all of them in Tsumego Pro soon : rank history, bookmarks, and a better problem selection in "progress" mode (no more problems that come again and again).

Thanks for the quick response Dalmas!

Could you also add this fantastic feature to the progress games please?

Worked through a bunch of the problems while watching game five of the jubango tonight, while also my first experience with a tsumego app (have seen a few programs for pc) I feel the op has designed a lovely app for android with a nice collection of problems for ddk's as well. The option to give positions a more well defined picture with several levels of line thickness to choose from is a nice feature for older eyes. Looking forward to adding extension to favorite collection and packs as I progress - between this, PandaTetsuki, and BW-Go for DGS and sgf reviews there'll be no excuse not to now.

It's now possible in the latest version (3.05), which also includes some bug fixes. :)

So, is this the same as the Tsumego part in ElyGo? Would it suffice to get ElyGo for the same functionality? Also, is there a bundle option to buy all available problems at a lower price?

ElyGo and Tsumego Pro share the same interface but they have different features. Tsumego Pro has daily problems, bookmarks, a level history, and a lot of problem packs, while ElyGo lets you import your own collections and has its own challenge mode.

The main reason I created Tsumego Pro is because, well, not everyone wants to buy a complete app just for the problems. Tsumego Pro has 30,000 users while ElyGo has only 2,000, so I guess I was right.
Another problem is that it was not possible to implement the "progress" mode in ElyGo. If you import your own problems, the app doesn't know which level they are and thus can't automatically pick problems of your level and track your progress.

Currently no, but it's something I may add in the future.

As an all-around Go program with many uses, Elygo has a lot more competition. Though there are one or two other stand-alone tsumego programs.

How does the progress tracking work? When I look at Score History, it always says No Results Found.

It should track every problem that you solve in the "progress" mode and display your progress over time. It may need at least two or three problems before showing anything, but if you still see an empty screen after that then it may be a bug.
