I happen to be in the neighbourhood and would love to shop around.
Anybody knows second-hand shops/flea markets where this kind of stuff could show up?
Also, regular Go equipment shops?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Hi Vasco,

Practically zero demand for good quality Go equipment in HK ( unlike in the mainland ).

For good starter's sets, visit one of the Go schools for kids;
e.g. HK Children's Go College.

I was afraid this would be the case, but thought it wouldn't hurt ask anyway.
Thank you for your feedback.

I'm in Hong Kong and must say that it seems very difficult to find quality go equipment here. I ordered my go equipment mostly from Japan online.

The go schools in Hong Kong may have some equipment available but expect cheap basic sets for beginners. There used to be a quality go set supplier at Monchukids go academy but it seems to be gone now. I had bought a go board from them years ago and their board were supplied by Kurokigoishi. Now even their website is gone. I read online that Bibabaduk Hong Kong secured the 6 brothers korean equipment local distribution rights but I don't know if they have equipment for sale right away.

Alternatively you might try checking out the stores around Hollywood Road on Hong Kong island where they sell antique and curios. Perhaps you might get lucky and find something but I haven't really found much weiqi equipment there myself although i don't go there much.

Thanks. I'll check them out next time I'm in the neighbourhood. ;-)
