Not sure if this is the right place to post it but still... In another topic there was an advice about resetting your rank by deleting and re-creating your account. But in your user info it shows all this "items" you don't have :) Like "silver double item" and such, and the last of 'em is the "Level change item", and i wonder if anybody figured out how to acquire them? I presume they are available for this betting points, but I failed to find where to actually exchange them for items...

Hi there,

I have just downloaded the English client, but when I run the installer it seems to get to the end and then displays the error: "cannot open web-config". Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

I finally got it to work under wine on my Mac. Had to change the winecfg graphics setting to have it run in "Emulate a virtual desktop" mode.

Are you clicking the red "Register Now" box? Because that is not the correct one. Resist the urge to click red things, and you will realize.

By the way, they have very nice news articles, not only pros but also from european tournaments. Fun to read.

The Windows client doesn't seem to be UNICODE enabled.

I'm able to install and run Tygem after adding the dll mentioned earlier. I'm also able to login using my ipad account. However, after login, I'm unable to interact with the main tygem app screen. I'm an mac, recently upgraded to Lion and with wine installed via macports. (2.0) Anyone seen that behavior or have ideas for how to continue? I don't use wine much, so I might be missing something obvious.

For reference - I don't care about playing on the computer. I just want to download games I played on the iPad, so if anyone knows an easy way to download games, please pass along the information.

One added note here. If I set my screen size painfully low (like 640x480) and run TygemGlobal.exe, I'm able to interact with Tygem. It's at least enough to be able to pull up my games list. I don't seem to be able to use the save function, but it's better than nothing. I'm hoping this is just lion weirdness that will go away after a few upgrades.

Sure. Use MultiGo. Out of curiosity, why do you want to convert them? It's just as easy to read them in native format, unless maybe you want to put them in a database program that supports only SGF?

There is a way around it. Microsoft has this tool called AppLocale. It creates a link to run Tygem with desired language setting, lets say Korean. Then you can edit this link to include japanese and chinese, then Tygem with display all characters properly and other non-unicode programs won't be affected.

I know about that, but it's a hack, and even then, you have to pick a specific locale for the lifetime of your session. I don't like to complain about things I get for free and probably the market for the English client is miniscule, but it's just a pet peeve of mine. To me it comes off as a half-baked internationalization effort, which affects its appeal to me. KGS and WBaduk don't have this problem. I hope the Kaya guys find a more elegant way to handle this.

wbaduk does have a major problem. Entry of foreign languages does not work at all. I don't think they do proper internationalization.
