;B[ml]C[ah, this seems to be the answer to my claim that

"ladders are the only Go shape whose influence value doesn't decay with distances through empty space."

This wasn't a counter-example, but it did make me think for a while.

For example what if the board was slightly different? In this case, I would have the ladder since W is playing so tightly.

Defense is stronger than attack. In this case, the question is how to use W's lack of liberties.

W is creating many groups because by using the side, B has more problems to make life in W's area. So W is stretching out to claim more.

I felt as though I was losing by 0.5 pt, but forgot about my capture of 3 stones in the upper left. And then perhaps overcounted J2. And undercounted my area.

This was very much a meaning of life game I suppose. 42 captures each.

Or HD died, and the captures were split 50-50 between us?

I am prepared to fight with the limited training I have, but I'm not sure where my loyalties are, so I am on slight energy saving mode. Just going off the instincts that I can prove.

W seemed somehow to be serving me thought problems and reflecting how I seem to the AI.

In this case it is about a point connected to the 2 key weak groups.

In higher dimensions, there are often multiple boundary points between two weak groups. Normally 1d is enough to live but sometimes 2d sheets are created as spider webs and then 3d when necessary.
