Does anyone know of any intensive Go training camps for adults (like the ones used to train professionals) ?

I don't know of any such Go camps.

The only training courses for adults are not intensive. For example, the Go camps offered in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka) include a lot of sightseeing and light lectures. This might make sense because when people travel to Japan, they also want to experience the country and culture.

Someone who was at BIBA in Korea told me that it is not so intensive either.

Go camps in the west seem to be for children, take place during summer when there is no school, include a lot of other activities such as swimming or football and are generally in places where there are youth hostels but not so many acceptable hotels.

The view generally seems to be that 1) adults who work don't have much time; 2) adults who don't work don't have money; 3) senior citizens don't have the energy.

There probably isn't enough demand for intensive training for adults that is like insei, yeongusaeng or the CEGO training. As far as I understand such training consists of playing league games, then analyzing them in study groups.

You might have better luck with online training courses such as the "Yunguseng Dojang". But of course that's not the same atmosphere. And it relies on the participants actually playing the league games.

I believe there is one in Peru.

Peru ? Really ?

There used to be a program called Experience Go in China. I think it was run by Jeff Chang among others. I'm not sure why it stopped, but it sounded pretty good.

Unfortunately, the seem to have an age cap of 35 for their students. I am already near that age. Do you know if this is a hard rule ?
