Hello, friends!

My name is Toru. I am offering Go lessons in any format. I have come up with a big new deal we could all have fun and improve a lot with. I believe the package would be very effective for raising your level quickly, and the monthly price I believe is a very good and efficient deal. I have more free time now so I can teach Go. I aim to find enough students so that this deal can be efficient for myself as well! :)

Please contact me if you are interested. email gostrongstyle@gmail.com may give faster response than here, but I will try to check here often.

Please feel free any questions~

Could you share an example of an email game commentary you've written?

I'd also be interested to hear more about your background (how long you've been playing Go, what teachers you've studied with, etc...).

I guess Toru is from France... in which case he has a verifiable track record of teaching.

WOW! What a website! No, that is not me. I live in Canada.

I didn't used to hold onto any lessons I've done in the past, pretty foolish! But I have a little, but they're on a computer that I will take a few days before I can access.

I was mostly self-taught when I was a weak player and I've been playing Go for 11 years or so. But a few of those years were void, as I did not play Go after learning a little when I was a kid. But it's at least 7 net years or so.
I doubt any of you know the people I learned from. I used to take every chance I could to get games with very strong players, including professionals. I would save money sometimes to be able to get a lesson or two. I went to a Go club in Tokyo when I was there and played strong players. There was an old man wh was a strong 6-Dan who took time to teach me many times, and then I had some rivals to player with who were high dans as well.

In the last year or two I haven't really played Go, but now I am playing a little again and I want to continue the teaching I was doing before, but I want to expand it! People told me I was a good teacher, so I decided I might formulate something to attract more students so that I can 1. Help more students become stronger with good routines and the best effort I can put in for them, and 2. to earn a little money, especially by trying something like the poster you see above to form a group of students.

I am not strong enough to be a 7-Dan yet, and maybe in some countries I'm not even 6, such as Europe. Someone told me they have strong ratings! But I believe I can teach well! I want to make a tiny contribution to increasing the number of strong western players!

Does anyone find the price is too high for them?

I can slightly reduce it.

I can also offer typical teaching games. I can offer 5 two-hour lessons for $120 total.

I can also offer one trial lesson - first lesson for $15, first lesson only.

Looking for students :)

I think a good approach for you might be to answer some question threads on here to demonstrate your knowledge and that you can explain concepts well, and then include a reference to lessons in your sig.

I think that go teachers are generally underpaid, myself. :)

Why don't you comment on a few games that are posted here for comment? That way people could get an idea of your teaching. :)

I agree, putting out a couple of sample commented games would be a great idea.

FWIW, I really like the structure you have for your teaching, and I think the price is very reasonable for what you get.

Thanks everyone! Okay, I will find any old game commentaries and do new ones for a friend and post here when I have time soon. And I will make a few forum comments! I only commented once on a game in here so far.
