Hello, I think this nice app deserves to have a thread.

It has been developped by a young man from China, and I first heard about it on Reddit (cbaduk)

On a recent phone or tablet, the installation is easy, and the level is astounding...
On my phone, at its absolute lowest setting, it's already 2-3 Dan, at mid-level (30 or 40 sec. per move), it's around 4-5 Dan (determined by playing against CSDL)
Obviously, depending on your phone or tablet, AQ's strength could be higher or lower...

V1.0.9.1 is nicer still. If I understood correctly, it should be in English if your system is in English, but in my case, it's in Chinese (not very important, because the app is very intuitive, and moreover, Bor-ka will probably translate it soon)

You can change the style of the stones and the style of the board , there's a nice win% screen, another screen with precise usage of time, and directly under the board, you can see the better moves considered by AQ. You can see the false eyes, the moyos, a heatmap, you can save or open games, and you can even see several graphic variations. You can play against it, or make it play against itself, with different levels and/or handicap.

And... the app is free

I don't know the developper or the translator, but I hope you'll enjoy this as much as I do !

An absolute must if you have an Android tablet or phone !

1.0.7 vs. 1.0.9 version difference? other than info viewing, such as various possible moves' winrates
how about strength, 1.0.9 any improvement? might I ask if you get some feeling about it?
right now i am testing 1.0.9 (setting: 40,30,67 for that 3 parameters) against zen7 5dan manually!
AQ computer version, needs 64 bit CPU PC, I do not have one yet
note: why 67, because i have experienced lower setting for the third will have blindspot for life-and-death false eye detection.

I think there's no difference in strength between v1.07 and 1.09, only the UI differs.

For AQ (windows PC version) you MUST have a good graphic card, otherwise you can only use AQ-mini (the CPU-only version) which is several stones weaker.
Anyway, even with a good graphic card, AQ is slowly giving way to LeelaZero, which is already stronger by one stone...
I hope AQ's developper comes up with a new and stronger version, because I love this AQ-LZ competition !

White:: AQ android 1.0.9 setting: 40,30,67 (samsung tablet)
Black:: zen7 setting: 5Dan (XP, pentium 4, 1 core)
AQ 1.0.9 won
Note1: AQ 1.0.9's winrate went up steadily and never dropped. Zen7 resigned after 100th move casted by AQ 1.0.9. According to Zen7's estimation, white was leading about 21.5 points.
Next I will test Zen7 30 second setting against AQ 1.0.9, and AQ 1.0.9 against Crazy Stone android commercial which has 5dan capability and it is the highest dan available in android Go currently.
Note2: AQ1.0.9's "undo" can only work when AQ finishs it's thinking and casts its move, otherwise, AQ program may crash.

CrazyStone commercial(black 5dan) vs. Aq 1.0.9 (white 40,30,67), the game runs on single samsung tablet.
CrazyStone setting: 5dan, slow
Aq 1.0.9 setting: 40, 30, 67
result: Black+resigned, black won.
Note1: CrazyStone slow means around 10 seconds per move +- 4 seconds.
Note2: AQ winrates fluctuated, up to high as 70's (around move 66-72,) then drop to 35%-25% and never recovered. According to zen7, CrazyStone black final winrate was 87%.

Three things about AQ1.0.9 :

1) AQ doesn't have a pondering switch (on/off)
2) I think AQ has a fixed komi of 6.5, even for handicap games !
3) Does anyone know if there's a new version, or where one can find information about it ?

There's a new version, 1.2.1.7, you can choose to play against AQ, at various settings, or against Leela zero, choosing the weights, time, etc.
You can analyse a game with AQ, watch AQ or LZ play against themselves, with or without handicap, beautiful !

My language is neither English nor Chinese, so the app comes in Chinese by default.
To have it in English, you have to go to Settings, general management, language, and switch to English, the switch between languages takes seconds.

Next time against LZ I should probably use that ladder patch. Or give it more time.

I think the best network is #157 at this time.
On my phone, with 20 sec per move (in fact, around 10-12sec) it's very strong.
I've just run a H5 game against Crazy Stone DL set at 2D (CSDL is usually considered as rather correct with its strength levels)

Leela rapidly killed 2 corners, and won very easily. I think it could have played H6 or H7

If, in your phone or tablet's parameters, your language is neither Chinese nor English, V.1.2.2.7 is by default in English.
