The 2010 Cotsen is on!!! The finest tournament in southern California, maybe in the world, is now set for September 18th and 19th. If you pre-register by September 10th and stay for all of your games, your entry fee will be returned. This means that you get to play for free. The food is also free: lunch for both days. And the masseuses are free.

And, assuming that my dear wife does not object, the guest bedroom, the 3 couches, and maybe even the floor at our place in LA will be free for players from out of town. PM me if you are interested.

Is this tournament open to players of all levels? If it is I will have to attend.

Man, I need to find a sub to do my work for me so I can go. Not sure that will happen though.

It would be awesome to finally make it to my first tournament. I'm really interested in this. Hopefully I can get some thing worked out so I can make it.

Registration was nice and easy. I hope to see you guys there.

On a completely different note, there was mention to bring your game clock to help out somewhere... What is the standard tournament time setting so I know if my game clock will work? It's an Excalibur II...

BTW, the :rambo: smilie is appropriate here. The second day of the tournament falls on a major pastafarian holiday.

Look for a fat guy with brown(ish) hair, and you've probably found me.

This is so not adequate identifying information for a go tournament.

I probably should have asked this earlier, but what about recording your games... do most of you record your games? Or do you just play them out? Is it acceptable to bring a book to record them? Hmmm.... I hope I come up with an answer... I always think of the important things at the very last minute....

The top four boards (all 7d) are being broadcast on KGS (now, and I presume throughout the weekend), and Jennie Shen 2p is commenting live on board 1.

Jordus: I just wait until I get home and transcribe the first 150 or so moves of all 5 games. I feel like it's too much of a hassle to record during the tournament.
