Post subject:  Seattle Go Center covid-19 impacts

Seattle Go Center has suspended face-to-face events (i.e., casual games days) during the COVID-19 outbreak and emergency response, effective March 13, 2020. Gatherings of 50 or more currently are prohibited; and gatherings of fewer than 50 require certain precautions (wash hands on entry, exclude people who seem to have symptoms, maintain interpersonal distances of 6 feet / 2 meters or more, wipe and disinfect high-touch surfaces, etc.).

Basically, we're closed, for a few weeks at least.

Near the end of March, we will assess the prospects for resuming normal operations, and make announcements then.

Meanwhile, we'll keep the community GOing online.
We have an OGS group, and a KGS room.
There's a "Seattle Go Center" Discord server for text and voice chat:
and a Facebook group:

The first "official" online meeting is today (Tuesday, March 17). I'll be logged in from home, 1pm-10pm Pacific Coast time. If all goes well, we'll do it again Saturday, March 21, 1pm-8pm.

We'll need volunteers to take turns welcoming people on behalf of the (virtual) Go Center. Please consider spending an hour or so helping the community in this way.

Edit -- updated Discord link.
