Greetings, fellow go players and Malkovich fans.

Has the quality of Malkovich games begun to bore you?
Have you grown tired of Malkovich comments that look like they were written by Beavis & Butthead?
Do you long for the good old days when men were men and comments were comments?

You need wait no longer.

Starting today,
the greatest spectacle since the Lakers vs the Celtics,
bigger than King Kong vs Godzilla,
more exciting than Emacs vs Vi,

I present to you:

in a rematch of their famous DG meeting

Malkovich #42, Joaz vs Araban

In this corner:
with an unbeaten 2-0 record in Malkovich games
weighing in at 1D AGA, is

Joaz Banbeck,
student of Kim Myeong-wan,
originator of the Malkovich games,
and master sandbagger.

He will be taking black.

In the other corner:
fresh from a recent victory in a mere 67 moves
weighing in at 5D AGA, is

Araban,
the former Sol.ch of GoDiscussions,
and the most liked player in L19.

He will be taking white.

There will be no komi, no quarter, and no paramedics.

Look for the thread in the Malkovich forum.

I look forward to it. I also wonder if I am more of a Beavis or a Butthead.

Reread the announcement, from what I get, it's a no komi match, with Araban taking white, so no handicap (or 1 stone handicap, if you want to define it that way).

Anyway...

Have a good game!

P.S. Am I the only person to find Joaz's self-description as `orginator' somewhat unusual? :)

Probably. It is an accurate claim. Check out this thread: http://www.godiscussions.com/forum/show ... php?t=9065

Will we get video commentary from Araban? - That would be awsome.

Yeah...from the overall responses I've gotten, it seems people really enjoy the video commentary (as do I!) so I'll be doing that. However, every once in a while I'll do text-only, e.g: when my Macbook's not with me or if my voice is messed up from sickness.

Joaz, if you called yourself originator, I would absolutely agree. I guess I am the only person to whom orginator sounds almost creepy.

I think his last post was intentional, but it is now dead as it stands. ;-)
