I just installed a release, which contains small tweaks and improvements.

First of all, as many people asked. There should be a way to select default rules and connection settings.

Marcel Grünauer wrote:
- Would it be possible to have connection defaults? For example, I always use KataGo, never Leela Zero, and always Japanese rules. When connecting, I always have to change these settings in the "AI server connections" dialog.
Thank you!

I have added a setting in the UI settings screen:

Secondly, mostly bug fixes,
and a small performance fix for the statistics table.

The statistics table is now also limited in number of records.

Feature suggestion: have some kind of indication about the next played move. Currently I only see the different percentages and often wonder which move I actually played.

Suddenly Katago is not available on Zbaduk? Is it over a change or an update? Or a problem with my account ?? Does anyone have the same problem?

Servers down? It says "No more instances available. You may want to try a different gpu server."

Sorry for the silence lately. I know, it's been a while.

First of all, for Chinese and Spanish visitors, we're working on language support for you guys. There's a test version running of our front-end on https://www.zbaduk.com/next which hosts these languages. The database is the same. It's just a bit hidden away for now.

In my own defense. I've changed jobs 2 times in the last 6 months. And because I don't want to slow down the project I decided the following:
1. to hire freelancers when necessary
2. to open-source the front-end.

For those who missed it, ZBaduk will be opening up it's front-end source. Actually, for some time now.
For that reason, 2 fundamental requirements need to be fixed first:

- redesigning some of the APIs.
- facebook and google login.

Actually, I'm not developing that myself. I brought in some help of some hired freelancers who know more about security than I do. Because 1 hired freelancer didn't turn out to be enough, I hired a 2nd one in mean time, who started working on it today.

You may have seen ZBaduk sponsor some tournaments. There have been many recently. (new-york, canada, latin-america, ... honestly, I can't keep up) And for that reason, I also hired somebody to design a banner.

@Maharani, I've sent you an e-mail about the KataGo network.
I'm willing to make this a priority, if you help me to pick the right network. :)
There seem to be so many these days.

Kind regards

PS: there's actually an issue with our loadbalancer right now.
I'm on it. You can expect a fix ASAP.

Update: done.
It turns out that the webost for the leela zero networks is down right now.
ZBaduk always tries to download the latest version from that website.
So, I fixed it now by installing a mirror for that network file (a failover).
Everything's back online now.

@phillip1882

Sorry, but I'm not entirely sure to what you are refering to be honest.
Here below I will give you as much information as I can, hoping to answer your question indirectly.

Game reviews always make calculations for both players. Both players are equal for them.
You can see the names of the players above the board:

- on top of the board there are colors that indicate who plays black or white
- next to your name there is a :black: which means that you played black.
- there is a percentage at the right of your name, because you played the last move.
- that percentage shows whether you managed to improve or worsen your situation as compared to the best possible move which was available.
- -0.4% is actually really good, so that's why it's marked with a green background color.

The following information is shown on the board:

- the black stone at L3 is marked, because it is the last move which was played.
- it's white's turn now.
- the intersections which are marked with numbers on the board indicate which moves the bot has evaluated.
- the one in blue is the best move.
- it will give white a win probability of 84.1% (only 19 playouts were calculated though).
- you can increase the number of playouts for this specific position by clicking the "Analyze this" button.
- the other move (the shoulder hit in lower right) is also a very good move, that's why it's marked in green.
- there's only a difference of 0.1% between the 2 proposed moves, so they have about the same value.
- these percentages are from the perspective of white, because it's white's turn.
- however, you can change this in in the "More...">"UI Settings">"Winrate perspective". Opinions differ about this. Some think that it makes more sense to express all winrates from black's perspective.

On the right there is a game tree.

- move 15 is marked in yellow, because that's the move which we are currently looking at.
- underneath the game tree there is a list of "worst moves", to quickly navigate to big winrate drops. (e.g. black G3 turns out to be the worst move of the game, and is worth investigating).

Then there is the winrate chart:

- the Y axis shows the winrate, the X axis shows the move number.
- as you can see, the Y axis is slightly zoomed. If you hover the axis with your mouse, then an unzoom button will show.
- The values on the chart are shown in perspective of black. It does not alternate winrates according to color.
- So, for that reason, the 15.92% is in perspective of black.

I'm sorry for giving you all this information.
I hope this indirectly gives an answer to your question. (which I don't entirely understand)

What I think you may be looking for is this settings screen to alternate the perspective of winrates:

Please do not hesitate to write me back if I totally misunderstood your question.

Yesterday, we had an unexpected issue which took down our services.
While we were updating our software and moving it to the other platform,
I added the long expected KataGo-network-update feature.

(@Maharani)
So, actually, from now on the KataGo network should always be up-to-date.
The network which will be used, will be the latest version available on https://katagotraining.org/

I do appologize for the technical issues which we had yesterday.
In mean time our servers are back up and running again.

I will prolong all premium memberships with 1 week of free access.
(Give me a couple of days to arrange this).

Kind regards

Thanks, spook <3333

EDIT: Is it gonna be the "latest network" or the "strongest confidently-rated network"?

@Maharani,
Right now, it's just the latest.

I use an API to query the list of networks. And I wasn't really sure how to determine which one's the "strongest confidently rated" network.
If I would have to make an educated guess, it would be the latest network with "log_gamma_uncertainty" < 0.05.
Maybe somebody reading this, can confirm or deny. :)

From here:

Strongest confidently rated network filters down to networks whose standard deviation of Elo uncertainty is less than 100... which is almost all of them, this usually just excludes a new net that barely has any data yet... and picks the net with the highest (mean - 2 * standard deviation).
