A long long time ago...
I can still remember
how the opening would go so well.
And I knew if I just hung in
that I could grab a major win
and, maybe, get promoted, who can tell?

But the mid-game made me shiver
with every hand that I delivered
Then he caught a core stone
I couldn't play one more stone

I can't remember what I thought
when I saw my group was one eye short
as it lay sadly on the board
the day my stones all died

I didn't knew the song, so I read these lyrics while hearing it for the first time with EdLee's link in the background, and it worked quite well. Good job matching the original words!

Actually, I was talking about just that with my girlfriend, and she would like to record it (she's a good singer). She could do it a cappella, but she thought it would sound nicer if someone accompanied it on guitar, so we're going to try and convince one of our guitar playing friends to do so
