Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

Dear SoDesuNe,

Could I have your point of view about move #96 ? I thought it was my last chance to come back and I thought I could live there. Was it a dream or did I make a mistake to live ?

In short, is #96 overplay ?

Thanks

Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

I just realized I commented more on Black's position and you seem to be White ^^

No problem

Regarding the Moyo: You could always play O17 either after Black K16 (move #9) or instead of White F3 (move #6). White R14 (move #12) high at Q14 also helps and makes in my opinion better shape with ...

Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

Btw. I just found that one of your matches was with my son (you won), so I'll have the opportunity to review that match with him...

I've seen you at EGC and in Bochum several times. Maybe I'll attend the Bochum tournament this year again, so maybe we'll see there..

I should come to Bochum in ...

Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

As many things I've done, I was very enthusiastic when I began this journal but without entries ... it becomes just a common thread without interest.

Please accept my apologies.

I've learnt alot in Swiss Go Championship. I will post you the fuseki/chuban of the games soon.

Long is the road to SDK ...

Re: A beginner's journal of little interest

For Chinese at our level, look at my EGC games. I will use it at Bochum tournament next month too. I will keep you posted. Unfortunately, since I went back from holidays, it is tough to take time to play more.

Re: First Fundamentals: First Impressions

Btw, how is possible to get a PDF version? I bought a printed copy at EGC but no procedure for a PDF copy which is a great value as I traveled light on road with a tablet.

Thanks.

Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

I don't feel confortable at all to any territory or influence techniques ^^ I'm 13k not 1d

But I agree with you. Know your enemy and the techniques he/she uses.

Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

I looked through posts 4 thru 10. I notice a general pattern: you are overconcentrating on making territory early in the game. To become stronger, in the early part of the game, concentrate more on influence and eyes.

Hi Joaz. Thaks alot for your comment. I understand more or less what you mean ...

Re: My journal - First SDK, then Shodan

The important part about the variation at 93 isn't the exact placement of the stone. in fact you can play closer to your black wall if that is more comfortable for you. the point is that if you draw a line between the outermost stones of whites moyo, then your play lands somewhere on that line ...

Thanks alot for your comments. You pointed the right things IMHO. The deep 93 variation looks hard to think to me. I find it like a parachutist ^^ Like a soldier far away from his base.

So yes I should try to analyse 93 and how to invade properly.

Thanks
