Re: Pining for the original OGS, considering picking up go a

It might have been solved too, but the android client was nice (and my main way to play go), and disappeared without notice with the merger.

I didn't play any turned based game since. I do like the new OGS for realtime games, I just wish people would be more talkative, wait for reviews like in the ...

Can anybody find a better move than filling the ko?

Re: Invading the corner

I've just started reading a book on the opening, and it tells me that invading the corner is the standard answer to the pincer (Opening Theory made Easy). That makes sense, but the problem I have is reconciling that to invading the corner early, which I've always believed to be a poor choice. Don't ...

Re: equipment warning

Followup: the books were shipped again, and this package arrived today. It's still strange to have lost the first one, and it stills make it a month delay.

Edit: one of the three books was not the one i ordered. I don't want to send it back and wait another month, so i'll mark this as a loss and ...

Re: equipment warning

Spellenwinkel Het Paard, I ordered books from there on the 27th June 2012 and didn't receive any products or email etc, so on the 7th July I emailed them no response! I checked by bank statement and have been charged.

I ended up ringing them today (From the UK to Holland!) incurring the cost of ...

Yes. I had the same error message last week, so i closed and reopened the client, which then prompted me with the maintenance message. It worked again once the maintenance was finished.

Re: Kaya Beta still costs money

it's not yet an open beta, they are in a closed beta stage. 200 free accounts were open last week, I had one.
It was so laggy that it's good they didn't open completely right now. It's really nice and shiny, but they still have some work to do before being able to open it I think.

But you can't say ...

Re: Time settings?

If KGS is so effective at avoiding this, why not copy their approach instead of removing server functionality that probably won't solve this problem anyway?
because their approach means being able to exit a game without resigning it, then causing pages and pages of complaints about escapers. KGS ...

Re: KGS 18k (me) versus 19k

Someone will probably comment on shape and tactical problems, so i'll take slow moves, with a few questions :

34: what would happen if you don't take ? Can black do anything ? If he extends, are your groups in danger ?
38: does black need to respond ? Can you kill his group if he doesn't, or is he ...

Mine is pretty bad too, but I count this even without counting the center, where black has much more potential. So to me black is comfortably ahead in this game.

Anyone stronger care to validate ?

There's so much lag though... I can't rejoin my game after a disconnection, and I can't even get a user list to excuse myself to my opponnent. I feel sorry for him, but i'll have to go as a dirty escaper :/

Puzzler, if you read this: sorry !
