Maybe a 19x19 grid of velcro strips on the board and a smaller strip of velcro around each stone's edge would do the trick as well. You might want to get black and white velcro strips, if possible. I don't know why your friend at the store didn't sell them originally like that, specially considering ...

Have a look at kombilo.
It seems that Drago uses it as a library, but it also has a full user interface where you can do searches, add games to your library and play through the games.
I also like the "guess next move" feature when replaying through the games.

Yep, it's not easy to see it. It's just on the right side, on top of the Last post header of the main sections table.

I play a few moves on DGS pretty much every day but I try not to have more than 5 games at the same time.
