If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the chance you will be correct?
(A) 25% (B) 50% (C) 60% (D) 25%
Zero. Without further information we can only assume that all answers are possible. Therefore the choices form a finite subset of an infinite number of possible answers. The ...

Please first define Question X.
EdLee, the question refers to itself. So, "this question" is the question you read.

Re: psychological profile of a sandbagger
Don't you guys exaggerate a bit? The sandbagger is neither physically nor psychologically damaging anyone. Why classifying into a psychological profile? A psychological damage could be if he wrote something like "you are stupid not to see that move", etc. But the sandbaggers I have seen so far never ...

Tygem, what a strange place to play. Every game turns into a big dragon hunt in the end.
At 1 kyu level, no concerns about efficiency. Attack only for killing, never for gaining territory. Defence is for cowards!
What a strange server! Fun though, at least sometimes

Re: Discipline
There is a clear contradiction between the two. At first I thought it is probably just a detail and not so important, but when trying to exercise meditation, you notice that it is.
Ah!
It is already very difficult to be aware of the breath without manipulating it. Counting may help for that ...

Re: Discipline
I know it goes a bit away from the original post and nothing to do with go, but I want to ask the following:
I read about and tried a kind of zen meditation (counting breaths up to 10, etc). The difficulty is, in every article I read about zen meditation, they say 2 things:

Re: Quantum Mechanics
Does it mean the following: god does not throw dice -> everything is deterministic -> from bing bang on, one could predict that I would exist and write this post...
Why did bing bang happen that way then? If everything is deterministic, what is the reason of the very first state of everything?

Re: not fair!!! how did I lose this game?
Why did you remove a stone with 209 in the game (N15). That looks like a 2-point loss in gote. If you had played the hane at K19 instead (3-point gote play), you would have been five points better off. Also 237 was a pass, it merely threatens to take the ko next (which never happens in the game ...

not fair!!! how did I lose this game?
I have 4 corners, two of which reasonably big, nobody has anything in the middle, sides are shrunk... I was sure, I was about 10-15 points ahead.
After counting, I was shocked to see that lost by 1,5 points. Since a wrong estimation cannot possibly be so wrong, this is a clear proof that the game ...

But something seems to be wrong with this variation. Wg16 (atari) and then Wd15 would lead to complications. I wouldn't play double hane in this position.

Re: After a long break, I intend to restart playing Go
Boidhre: what you say makes a lot of sense, theoretically. However, practically I still don't know how to punish such a move. Simply by approaching the upper left corner at e17, or just doing nothing and waiting for the bad move to punish itself? How would an approach continue? Would all joseki ...

If it was a smart-t-shirt changing the text depending on the board position, it could be offensive Like that, it is not, I think.
But to be honest, I must say I didn't like the joke so much because I prefer to see the game as an "intellectual activity commonly enjoyed by two persons" (pardon my ...
