Re: Seattle Go Center-ers?
Will you be there next week as well? It looks like I won't be able to make it this Tuesday. I heard we have to spend a lot of time setting up our first Tuesday.

Re: Seattle Go Center-ers?
Would you happen to be going to the SGC this Tuesday Redbeard? I'm going to try and make it around 6 or so, and possibly bring a fellow intern.

Re: Hypothetical game
But then where would the other 7-8 white stones be? They would die in black's territory, so they can only be placed inside white's. You can also assume those 7-8 were sacrifices to gain outside influence when white was originally low. Also, sorry, I didn't mean low as in ghastly low (2nd line == win ...

Hypothetical game
It's my understanding that many times the third line is considered low. I've heard that crawling along the third line isn't a bad result for either the outside or inside. I wanted to see how high black would have to be to beat white (with 6.5 komi) if black took only the sides, and white took the ...

Re: Seattle Go Center-ers?
Good to know there's some people here that go there! Redbeard, I may have to take you up on your offer. Do you mean around the SGC or around the area in general? Unfortunately I won't know where I'll be staying (and thus when I can get there on Tuesday nights) until May 10th or so. My first visit ...

Seattle Go Center-ers?
Hey all, I'm going to be in Seattle this summer, and I wanted to see if there were any people from the L19 community that frequent the Seattle Go Center. Or go occasionally. Or have thought about going.

Insert clever title (11k and 15k)
Hey all, I haven't posted a game in a while and I haven't been improving much (been bouncing between 15k and 16k for the past 30 games or so), so I thought I'd see what I'm missing. I don't want to take up too much time, so I'll list the things I see on a quick review. If there are other glaring ...

Re: Malkovich game on KGS just starting :)
Looking forward to it! I wasn't able to catch this one live, but I loved the recorded one. That hour felt like 10 minutes. Ate away at my study time. If I fail this exam, I'm blaming you!
But man, those ads are SO annoying! They're over 9000 times louder than your audio, so yeah. Ouch.

Re: Crippled
If I don't feel up to a game some day (because of demoralizing mistakes the day before, or I just don't feel up to dealing with some of the people you play on KGS) I like to click on higher rank games until I find one that's interesting. Watching better people play out a game makes me forget about ...

Difference between high and low rank games?
I've noticed that a lot of my low rank games have big territories (into which my opponent always makes a reckless invasion, and I have to stretch my fighting skills to kill) and high rank games that I watch (SDKs mostly, because I watch games in the Beginner's Room on KGS ) have lots of small groups ...

Re: wbaduk registration?
Alas, missing one line of code shouldn't compromise an entire network, but it does. =) The pages that wouldn't work were the login-whatever.asp and test-room-popup-thing.asp, hence my guess.

Re: Photographic memory
It's true that it would be difficult (maybe impossible) to show dream-memory is perfect. Details may be missing that our dream-selves wouldn't notice while in the dream. This brings up another interesting point: perception filtering.
Our dream-selves filter the missing details so that our ...

Photographic memory
I've been nursing an idea in my head for a few years now, and I thought I'd let other people give it life while I sit quietly by and watch. =) What better place to develop ideas than a forum where everyone is obsessed with a game that requires both analytical exactness and unrestrained creativeness ...

Re: wbaduk registration?
Yep, IE did it! You only need IE to register though. I logged in just fine with Chrome. =) Thanks all.
EDIT: Nevermind. The Test Room only works in IE again. Sounds like an .asp issue.

wbaduk registration?
Has anyone ever registered for wbaduk before? The Test Room was mentioned in a recent thread, so I wanted to try it out. The sign up page loads, but nothing happens when I hit continue. Looking at the source code, I can see there's supposed to be a message if something goes wrong. I can only guess ...
