Re: #147 Marcus vs 1986

I would have instinctually played this here. Also, I probably wouldn't have slid into the corner as white. I probably would have jumped out.

Re: 146- speedchase 8kyu versus sur 7k

:b37: is beyond ugly. It shouldn't have been considered as a possible move. :w38: is painful. Now, even if black lives, he's still in terrible shape.

Re: #145 - hailthorn 8k vs Sur 7k

I also want to mention :w26: as a bad move. It is better to move out into the center and avoid getting sealed in.

Re: #145 - hailthorn 8k vs Sur 7k

Black is talking some non-sense. He has already gained a lot by forcing white to live here. Why not just seal him in?

Re: Dragonpie vs. Soutkin: a KGS game.

Thank you for the comments. I do tend to lose move of my games because I fight too strongly in areas that I don't need to.

Re: #143 1986 vs Nathan

I wasn't sure how to answer EZ4U's move either, so I was thinking it might be played. :b67: was bad shape. I think the keima would have been better.

Re: Dragonpie vs. Soutkin: a KGS game.

Thanks, but I wasn't planning on that sequence. His move certainly surprised me.

Re: #143 1986 vs Nathan

:w58: is another move that I think I remember at around their level. It's sente right? Yes, but so is extending. This move just induces black to fix his weakness while not getting much in exchange.

Dragonpie vs. Soutkin: a KGS game.

This guy asked me for pointers. I figured that I'd post it here and see if we could get some from somebody stronger than me.

Re: 146- speedchase 8kyu versus sur 7k

I'd say fight him because he has a supporting stone in the bottom right. I play much worse when i'm in an angry or upset mood.

Re: Araban vs Magicwand II

At MW I get what you're saying, but I see it as useful because even if the sequence is never played, it shows weaker players things to consider in a similar position.Even if it isn't an exact sequence, sometimes a statement like, "I feel like I'm far enough ahead that I just have to be sure that I ...

Re: #143 1986 vs Nathan

I like black. I think that black's last move was MUCH bigger than white's last move. Black's move weakens white's stones and takes territory. White's move takes territory without growing any potential or making any of black's stones weaker. I also don't really like white's bottom left white stones ...

Re: Bang around the wonderful responsibility (A Chou)

I saw this position in a review of Joaz that Bill Spight gave.

It was a game in which Joaz played a professional and faced this double approach. Joaz played the 5-5 point and the professional player played the 6-6 point.

Bill suggested the 6-5 Shoulder hit to separate white. It makes sense to me.

Re: Game #119--Puppycake vs. Parliament

Sorry for taking so long. I normally move at work, but I'm super tired because I've worked 48 of the last 72 hours and I don't feel like moving until I actually get a chance to catch up on sleep.
