I don't like Java Web Start at all. Both Cgoban3 and GoPanda (from IGS) use Java Web Start. Why can't the KGS client be distributed as a jar-in-a-zip-file or installer file or something?

I don't use pulseaudio at all. Earlier (when I was using 64bit Java 6 from Sun I think) I had issues with KGS locking audio driver for itself, but apart from that, sound was working. It's possible that these accounts are used in asian go clubs. In club there are computers which are permanently logged in on IGS/Tygem/Wbaduk server, so anyone can come and play a game.
