English speaking players in Yokosuka area

I've heard talk at my local salon that their are fellow American (or atleast english speaking) players in the area. Any of them happen to be in this forum?

Re: Norfolk / Virginia beach / Hampton roads go players?

I just got to Virginia Beach last night, currently staying at one of the naval bases. Let me know if you're still interested in a game!

The exhibition game was indeed played today, however I'm not aware if it was recorded or not.

Re: Can fast go be good for you?

I think it's worth commenting that the lowest insei play at 30 minutes absolute time. They also play many games on their game days (I believe 12 in one weekend, though I may be wrong). So perhaps it's a general belief by professionals that at lower levels, when learning, longer time doesn't ...

Re: What would you bring?

If anything I'd prefer a smartphone or something similar with a few apps installed on it. I can't count how many times it's been useful to pull out my phone and be able to do problems while traveling or waiting somewhere.

Re: Norfolk / Virginia beach / Hampton roads go players?

I'll be in the Virginia Beach area in a couple of months for a few months. I don't know how easily I'll be able to get over to that mall, seeing as I won't have a vehicle but I would definitely like to meet up if at all possible.

Re: fantasy go league?

This sounds interesting, though I do like the idea of instead of choosing three from your list to 'participate' in a tournament, you just base the whole active board off of a certain level of dan ranks. Limiting each participant to a couple of 9p's and a bunch of lesser ranked pro's, or if they ...

Re: Which server(s) do you play on?

I play ranked actively on Tygem. I'm also on KGS, but generally only play teaching or learning games there. I like KGS' atmosphere of study and learning, but I like the quick, anonymity, and different styles you can find on Tygem.

Re: Resign bug?

Yeah, the same thing happened to me, and I exited out of it the same way, so it just appears to be a bug with the server(or atleast the game window) thinking the game is still active even when it isn't.

Re: Understanding attacking

Attacking is the act of creating a weakness in your opponents groups. There are several ways of doing this, depending on the situation. Several examples include seperating your opponents stones, invading an opponents area, reducing, or even making your own groups stronger. It's pretty hard to ...

Re: Future projects/goals of the AGA

As a previous AGA member, the reason I don't renew is because due to monetary and time reasons, I'm not able to go over to the nearby go clubs too often to play (less than ten times a year), the cost of membership just isn't beneficial for me since I would rarely get to play in any rated tournaments ...

Re: Study Journal

Due to life getting in the way, I'm not quite able to devote as much time as I had foreseen to studying so I adjusted my study plan as followed: I now only study Joseki and pro games on the weekends. I finished High Speed Game Analysis and have commenced reading Reducing Territorial Frameworks.
