I do agree on that. Veneer means they couldn't be bothered with staining the wood, much less painting the lines.

For awhile, I've been using http://www.gamedaze.com/Go-Deluxe-Wood-Set.aspx in solo games. It's not a bad set, but it wasn't made with adults in mind as the tip on my pinky finger covers it. As such, it's a pain to place or remove pieces in crowded areas.

I own the game as well, but can't play against other folks as I'm not a gold member at this time, not to mention the times I can hook my 360 to the internet is rare atm.
