Re: In the year 2019...

I’ve been trying to return to Go recently but all I’ve done is rewatch all of Hikaru no go and play Tsumego... so I have simple and obtainable new year resolutions:

1. Play less Hearthstone and play 1 game of Go per week
2. Review the 1 game per week on my pc with an a.i.
3. Tsumego while I eat ...

Hey, no I haven't shown them Hikaru yet. I've considered it. I actually just started a rewatch of it myself, but the version on YouTube right now has a pretty bad translation!

Thank you from a Looong time Lurker

Hi everyone,

TLDR: Thank you to everyone at this site for unknowingly keeping my interest in Go alive over the past 7 years

I wanted to make a post to tell everyone at this site Thank You. I've been lurking here for over 7 years now, off and on. I discovered Go back in 2008, found godiscussions ...

Re: Looking for a DGS game, any rank

Thanks CnP! I will start a game later tonight. I want to play even first, don't worry about dominating. If we play subsequent games maybe I will ask for a handi. I learn by losing :)

Looking for a DGS game, any rank

So I've posted here before for game reviews and received great feedback from you all. The problem is everytime I get into go, we have a baby and I take a year+ off. Well that's done now and I am looking for anyone to play a casual DGS game with me to help me get back into go. I need DGS because the ...

Re: How to respond to a Cap?

Thank you all very much for the replies. All of you showed me some good ideas that I will be able to learn from and apply to my game. During the time pressure of the game I responded poorly. As I suspected, the move that I made for was not mentioned at all, which is the reason that I posted the ...

How to respond to a Cap?

Hi,

I am looking for general advice on how to respond to the "Cap" move, such as the one in this diagram. I did not find the pages at Senseis very helpful because the pages I found don't have a response by the player doing the "capping", for a lack of a better verb. I wasn't sure of a good way to ...

Re: Finally got a ranking, 18k, Please Review This fighting

Thank you all very much for your comments. I looked up what empty triangle means and now I know better moves to make when I get in a similar situation.

Emeraldemon, now that you brought my attention to it, I easily saw how to kill the White group on the left. I can't believe I missed that for over ...

Finally got a ranking, 18k, Please Review This fighting game

Hi,

I have a posted a couple of games for review before and I really appreciated the comments that were made. After a few months of playing over the board about 3 times a week, I've decided to jump back into KGS. I played this game tonight and finally got rid of my "?" ranking and got a rank of 18k ...

Hi,

Can I ask, why Montgomery? Do you ever foresee a Go event being held in Huntsville?

18k disaster

Hello,

This was a game I played on KGS against a 16k. I made some terrible mistakes and ended up getting a group of about 10 stones captured... twice. I'm looking for advice on some other moves not related to that. I have tried to comment inside the SGF on the moves that I was confused about during ...

Balmung (or anybody),

Do you know of any Go clubs near Huntsville, AL? There is a large Korean population but I have not been able to find any information about a Go club in the area.

Re: Magnetic Go Board

You have probably already made your purchase by now, but I wanted to tell you that I have the YMI magnetic roll up board. I keep it at work and I play with a friend during lunch almost every day. The carrying case is very helpful.

My only negative, and I think this applies to all roll up boards in ...
