Re: Introducing SensAI Go

That is called cheating.
You're entitled to your opinion. Of course it's an advantage to be aware of the evaluation. But you still have to think for yourself which moves to play.

Anyway, I think I've explained my reasoning very clearly in my article. The vision is to implement the system in a ...

Re: Introducing SensAI Go

New Episode online:

This one is more back-and-forth than the first ones that were quite one sided, so you can see more action in the feedback system.
Enjoy :)

Re: Introducing SensAI Go

John, this Nakane-AI series, can we watch this somewhere? (ideally with subtitles)

It'll be interesting to see this theory tested.

It's also good to have a new idea to shake up the rather familiar discussions on L19 on 'how to improve' featuring a handful of ageing regulars - each with their ...

Re: Introducing SensAI Go

It's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure that's the best medium with which to deliver feedback during the same.
I think if I was playing I would just find the additional noise offputting. Did you try the same idea but with a purely visual feedback for the key ideas, urgency & state.

I added the ...

Re: Introducing SensAI Go

It is what the education professionals in my Go club tell me. I don't think it needs much discussion that if you interrupt an exercise that it is likely to have a negative effect. As far as I see your suggestion it is interrupting the task, it is a distraction from the task, but with the nuance ...

Re: Introducing SensAI Go

As far as I know such signaling of how an exercise is going isn't considered conductive for learning in general.
Do you have some source for that? I'm genuinely interested.

[...] remembering what you were doing must be crucial for improving on it, right?
That's exactly why I think training ...

Re: Introducing SensAI Go

Hi Robert,

first thanks for engaging, although it seems you misunderstood me in some points, so let me correct this.

"the best moves in Go are actually not recent developments"
You're misquoting here. In the sentence I'm talking about search algorithms - which have been Monte-Carlo based since ...

Introducing SensAI Go

Hi everyone,

I've been working on a small Go-related project and decided to share it with the community.

Please check out my article:

Re: Can the AI be beat?

Can it be beaten?

Sure it can. AI's lose against each other, so they're not perfect.
Just someone has to consistently play the best move every time for a whole game's duration.

How probable is it?
Not very.
It's like the thing with the monkey and the typewriter. Theoretically, if you have a monkey ...

Re: Impact of AI on Pro Study and Teaching Appraoches

Teaching with understanding and explanation is an advantage to teaching by example because the former includes the latter.
I don't think you're making a real point here. Your distinction between teaching methods does not seem valid to me.
I have never seen anyone "teach by example" without giving ...

Re: The new standard of online play

I admit I skipped over the thread but that's because I think the question doesn't make much sense. I mean how are you supposed to make a good decision without

1. verify life and death, or connection, statuses
2. positional judgement
3. do not miss moves of large value during opening and middle ...

Re: Fox Go Server

I installed the english client and played my first games. But there is an issue:
While the client loads, button text is displayed in English (Automatch, create room etc.). But as soon as it's finished loading, display changes to chinese characters.

Anybody knows a way around this?

Re: Communication with leela zero

Thx a lot Kirby but I've read that file over and over again already ;)

I've even tried to use their GTP approach but it doesn't really help. As I said it works fine - and then stops working.
Might be some buffering problem but it's hard to debug.

I just thought in case it's a bug from leela zero ...
