Re: Komi pie: will it ever become widely used?

How do you deal with information problems? I don't think many casual players have a strong idea about whether the first move is worth five points, six points, or some other number.

Re: That's exactly what the other shrink said.

Also an interview by Jason Isaacs, who is both a producer and the actor who plays Michael Britten supports what I said.

That said, I like that the question of which world is real is ...

Re: Clearing out the cobwebs, all feedback appreciated.

Thanks for the advice, everyone.

With respect to :w20:: why would I want to invade one space lower rather than where I invaded?

Clearing out the cobwebs, all feedback appreciated.

After a few months of hiatus, I'm feeling a bit rusty. Here's a close game I played today, which I won on time (rather anticlimactic).

So I'm looking for an assessment of:

⋅ What could I have done to invade/reduce the right side more effectively?
⋅ Could I have done ...

Re: That's exactly what the other shrink said.

One of the creators already weighed in on the question of whether any of the worlds is real:

One of the creators said in an interview that one world was real and the other was a dream. He thought having both worlds be fake would too cliche.

Re: Things you don't like about Go.

1. 361 legal moves at the opening and only two are worth playing. An exaggeration, to be sure, but it is a little disappointing that for such an open-ended game your first move is almost invariable a 4-4 or 3-4 stone.

2. The name. Couldn't we have inherited Go by way of the Chinese or Koreans so it ...

Re: 10k v. 8k

Thanks for your comments guys!

Regarding , I even considered G13 during the game, but worried about potential fighting arising after W plays G12. I mean on review it looks like I can just respond with atari at G11, then follow up maybe with nose tesuji or an extension from G11.

Thanks for looking ...

Life and Death from Recent Game

I was playing black in a face-to-face match when white played this move:

$$B
$$ . . . O O . . |
$$ . O . . X . . |
$$ . O X X . W . |
$$ O . O X . . . |
$$ . O . . . . . |
$$ . . . . . . . |
$$ ------------

The resulting sequence killed my corner. Is there any way for black to salvage the ...
