My all around favorite time limit is 5 minutes main time, + 5 minutes/5 stones Canadian time. Such a game affords one the time to take an eternity when I need to, and to play at a lovely brisk pace when I don't.

I've had half point games before, occasionally a few in a row. They're uncommon, but not really rare. Also, I think the higher up you get, the more likely they become when playing someone of even strength.

I would also add the KGS client to the "out of date UIs". It was pretty good when it was new, 10 years ago. It could be a lot nicer now.
