Re: The Ten Golden Rules - a paraphrase
Thank you, Tami! After having been unable to play for a couple of months, I will try to "start over" bearing The Rules in mind..maybe it will improve my game.

Re: how do i get a ranked/rated game on KGS?
...and in front of the names on the players list, you see "R" for someone who wants to play a ranked game, and "F" for the free game..

Re: 0.5
I get extremely excited when a game got so close - I would love to say "gets", but I am still too bad in counting, so most of the time I get aware of it in the end.

Good idea, shapenaji, I shall try that until the bladder bursts
A friend of mine told me that, before you make your move, you have to be ABSOLUTELY sure that you can live with your choice...for then to stand up and take a 360 turn before clicking/settling the stone - the standing up and sitting ...

Re: handicap for black
Mef is right, it's tough on both, but in different ways.
I like white and handi because I feel like bluffing my way through a high-risk game - which actually makes me focus on playing best-fitting moves.

Re: 0.5
Were you playing black or white? If you were black then it would have been a perfect game for both players. If you were white you should have tried one stone harder .
Seriously though, I think any game that comes down to komi or less is a great game for both players. You should be congratulated ...

I agree, Sverre. Get strong at Tesuji is my favorite book, followed by the "Graded Go Problems".
..and when I don't feel like reading books, I study problems on the net. Mostly gobase, sometimes wbaduk lately. And - I feel that I am improving by doing so, which is the best motivation! Now, about 5 ...

Re: EGF Referee Workshop 2011
Hi Robert,
would you be so kind and post a link concerning exact time and place of the workshop when you know something's coming up on the net?
How about accomodations during EGC, entrance fee questions etc? I will be on holiday in Germany during July/August, but don't think that I will travel ...
