fourier transformation? Isn't that very common in physics?

Anything sound-related has Fourier transforms out the wazoo.

How does it work here then?

This is the link it creates for me, which marks all Malkovich games read:

So, you can see the first two are identical. If you click the link in the ...

Re: Malkovich: The flood is coming

I figured out a way to add the "mark forums read" thing to all pages, but it's not possible to make a "mark malkovich read" button because it's four separate forums. It either has to mark all forums read, or just one forum. :-/ I am researching the "ignore forum" feature, but it's not a simple ...

Re: Malkovich: The flood is coming

1) I don't think creating a non-Malkovich turn-based forum is a good idea--either play a low-commentary Malkovich game, or go to a real turn-based server.

2) We desperately need an "ignore Malkovich games" feature. Maybe as a temporary partial solution we could use the "Mark Forums Read" link on ...

Re: Do you think iTunes is bloated?

Applications are free to allocate as much memory as they want, even if they never use it. For example, iTunes might really only need 10 MB of memory to operate normally, but it allocates 300 MB just for kicks. If you look at something like ps or Activity Monitor, you'll see 300 MB for its "Virtual ...

Re: Do you think iTunes is bloated?

So if an application uses 300 MB memory according to the task manager, it actually needs it. It may be that some of this memory is only used infrequently, and there is not much harm in swapping it, but it still means the application needs the memory, at least as far as the operating system is ...

Re: Future projects/goals of the AGA

I'd like to suggest a different set of "categories" that I think are more player-centric. As with any organization, the interesting question is, "How do I benefit from being a part of this organization?" Here's my list:

* How do I find people my level to play against?
* How do I find stronger ...

Re: The AGA makes me sad.

Whether it needs to or not, the AGA would like to gather these folks. In the old days, we were the only game in town, if you built them they would come. This is no longer the case.
I wonder if, rather than "gathering," the focus could be on "finding and publicizing". The AGA efforts I've been most ...

Re: The AGA makes me sad.

I guess the question that comes to my mind is, "What does the AGA want to do?".

I am an AGA member to go to tournaments. That's pretty much the only reason.

Maybe if the AGA had more clear goals, it would be easier for people to step up and try to achieve them.
If the AGA's goal is to "get ...

Re: Do you think iTunes is bloated?

A feature that can be disabled, at least in iTunes, is one where you turn something off either via a menu, or via a preference. What you did is, in effect, click on a Cancel button; that X button does the some if you're, say, importing a CD, or converting files to another format. It does not turn ...

Re: Do you think iTunes is bloated?

I would recommend you take CarlJung's advice to heart. When you're correct, you look rude; when you're incorrect, you look foolish. Neither is a state I think you want to be in.

You're really not reading what I said. I explained about the gapless thing; you haven't replied that you understood what ...

Re: The AGA makes me sad.

I think that hosting in-person tournaments is the biggest (or at least the most obvious) service the AGA provides. Most people I know who are members originally joined so they could play in a tournament.
I find this interesting. Hosting in-person tournaments is probably the biggest thing the AGA ...

Did you actually read my post?

Yes, I did.

Still, it seems like you were talking past each other. If I could summarize how it looked from a third party's perspective:

palapiku: The escaper policy is a huge issue. This is evidenced by how often people talk about it, both here and on KGS.
