Re: Where can I buy these stones?
A source of 6 Brothers go equipment is the Mt. Whale eBay store, where you will find "professional baduk" glass go stones of similar size and appearance to the GoGameGuru set: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Baduk-Stone-Bongwhang-Phoenix-Special-Shinkwang-Paduk-Go-WeiQi-Professional ...

Re: Recent Testing of YMI Yunzi Stones for Lead
In response to PnPProg, I did indeed test two sets of glass go stones (both Japanese and Korean) and they did not test positive.
I'm not sure, but couldn't lead on the surface of glass stones be removed pretty easily?
In the case of Yunzi stones, the lead is not an incidental substance "dusted ...

Re: Recent Testing of YMI Yunzi Stones for Lead
Thanks to all for your replies.

In response to EdLee, I did not test a known source of lead because I have a high degree of confidence in a test endorsed by both the EPA ...

Recent Testing of YMI Yunzi Stones for Lead
I am interested in whether anyone who has purchased their Yunzi single-convex stones from YMI within the last year or so has tested them for lead. Specifically, I am interested in results using any of the EPA ( https://www.epa.gov/lead/lead-test-kits ) or Consumer Reports ( https: ...

Thanks, Kirby. I will pass this along, and encourage him to try registering again.

Re: New account sign up still disabled?
Hi Kirby!
I referred someone to lifein19x19 who is liquidating his go collection of stones and boards and would like to post in the Trade/For Sale section, but he said he is unable to create an account. Has a moratorium on new accounts been reimposed in lifein19x19?
Thanks for any information you ...

Re: What kind of glass stones are these?
Based on appearances (blunted edged stones) and the name (Phoenix) I strongly suspect these are of Korean origin. For example, on the US eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Baduk-Stone-Bongwhang-Phoenix-Special-Shinkwang-Paduk-Go-WeiQi-Professional/270956691457?hash=item3f16470001:g: ...

Non-Yunzi glass go stones from China?
I recently obtained a set of glass biconvex go stones of impressive size (11.0mm)--somewhat inadvertently, as they were listed as 8mm, and I wanted them for a travel board! The stones are the typical matte black and shiny white glass, but do not have the "blunted" edge that is typical of Korean ...

Go Bowl Label: Chinese? Translation??
I have a set of "Indian Rosewood" go bowls from YMI circa 2012 that have an embossed label on the underside of the bowl (see image). I am assuming the writing is Chinese, but I wonder if anyone could tell me for sure. Additionally, if you can also tell me what it says, it would be greatly ...

Do White Yunzi Stones "Glow Green" Like The Black Ones?
I have "jade colored" Yunzi which (of course) appear green when held up to a light, but since I don't have the white variety I was just curious if the white stones give a greenish tinge when viewed against a bright light (as the "black" stones are well known to do). Thanks in advance!

Somebody snapped up the set yesterday, so if it was a member of this website, congrats!
I was frankly surprised at the cost of shipping cited above (since when I put in my East Coast zip it calculated the cost to be less than $15) but sure enough, an Los Angeles zip yields a shipping cost of over ...

Re: Looking for a slotted Go board
I just happened to have seen a used Japanese slotted goban with glass stones on the US eBay for $60 (+ ~$15 s/h): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Japanese-GO-Game-Set-Wood-Board-with-Stones-Lacquered-Bowls-/181916914673?hash=item2a5b17d3f1:g:-GEAAOSwAYtWJQ56 . Although the seller does ...

Itame (Kiomote) Floor Board at Kiku Imports US$160
Thought I'd pass along a floor goban sighting at a San Francisco antique dealer, which is currently 20% off for "Black Friday" sale (expiring today at midnight, Pacific Standard Time--that is in about an hour!!). Here's the link: http://www.kikuimports.com/m847-go-board/ , and here are ...
