Re: Blog Announcement

The Quebec Go Association uses Kaya for all its events. Why? For fun perhaps? No, simply because no other go server enables us to do what we want. With Kaya we can broadcast live games with video, comment these games efficiently with vars, share games with simple urls and add events to the countdown ...

Re: New Time System Hourglass

It's true that there is a major problem with Hourglass: You can play fast random moves to squeeze your opponent in time.
Kaya solved this nicely, but I would like to propose another solution, which I believe is more natural .

On chess clocks, there are 2 basic options you can add to any time system ...

Re: Verified Accounts

This doesn't really make sense. Everybody has both ratings? So even unverified people have a "verified" rating? This sounds bizarre, so I'm guessing you don't mean this. Can you clarify in this matrix below?

V=Verified, U=Unverified, VR=Verified Rating, NR=Normal rating

V vs V - VR/NR affected ...

Re: Verified Accounts

It seems I'm not expressing my ideas correctly, and I'm sorry about that:

I'm suggesting 2 simultaneous ratings systems, not separate . Every game you play counts for the normal rating system. If your opponent has a verified account, then that game also counts for the verified rating. In other ...

Verified accounts would of course be optional. They would be great for those who use them, and they would change nothing for those who don't.

Re: Verified Accounts

It seems that a few things were not clear in my initial post:

-The ideas I gave are just suggestions of what we could do with verified accounts. It seems to me that the possibility alone of having a verified account is cool. Especially when famous players will play on the server.

-Having a ...

Verified Accounts

The idea is to use ''verified account'' badges, like on google+. There are many good reasons to implement such a feature:

-Some people prefer to know who they play with, some prefer to play with secret accounts. With such a feature, it would be possible to choose in the automatch to play only ...

Re: A new server is being developed: Kaya.gs

Still, what goes through my mind is - how will Kaya.go compete?
I mean... I don't mind supporting it because it is a good idea, but why should I play there? I bet I am not alone asking this.
Go servers are like bars. Nobody wants to sit in a bar alone, so people go where people are. But how to get ...

Re: Playing on a pad

I have to say that right now, the KGS app for android is quite near from perfection. Still, there are a few features many tablet users would like to see :

-Possibility to review finished games
-Reading/sending messages
-Possibility to play a move with 1 tap
-Player profiles
-Review tools

Any of ...

I will definitely be looking to see if there's any useful way for dailyjoseki.com to make use of your api. If your webclient takes plugins, I'll consider writing one to display my joseki data for it.

Very nice project you have there! I already use it, and I'm looking forward to use it on Kaya ...

Re: A new server is being developed: Kaya.gs

And the founder accounts.... They are actually WORTH 35 dollars.

Why are they worth 35 dollars?

I don't want to seem too cynical, but it's a lot more normal to have something working and then ask for money for improvements rather than the other way around.

Such lack of faith...
For me, the ...
