Re: How is the Internet Go School for a beginner?
The first time I took a stab at learning Go I bought the GoBooks app editions of Graded Go Problems for Beginners Book 1 as well as the first 2 volumes of Janice Kim’s Learn to Play Go. I know I didn’t finish the 2nd volume. I suppose I can start with the tools I have plus add the second problem ...

How is the Internet Go School for a beginner?
I began to learn to play Go several years ago but life got complicated and I stopped playing/studying before I got very far. I read about the Internet Go School and it seemed like the Spaced Repetition System would be helpful given that my memory is not what it once was. Sometimes when I read ...

Re: Any advice to make a club?
I'm not a Go Club leader or member, but at my old job I did have to organize educational activities in my area of expertise. How about the club members watching Go lectures together on YouTube or elsewhere, and then discussing the lectures and trying out the techniques or ideas. That way you wouldn ...

Re: Eyes more in depth for beginners?
I just started playing Go, read some beginner stuff but I'm really having
trouble keeping my stuff alive, I know about 2 eyes is alive and 1 eye is dead
but I'm having trouble actually creating 2 eyes in a game.
So I was wondering if their is maybe an article or book that goes more in depth on ...

Re: Human vs Human on iPad - with Clock
I could be missing something but I couldn't find a clock. I chose 'play a human' and tournament rules, but no clock appeared and I didn't see an option to use one. So I suppose it can work as a board for 2 people, and keep records of the game, etc, but not time it.

Maybe Darkpolarbear is referring to this free program:
Igowin Software Download
Igowin is a 9x9 free version of Many Faces of Go. Play go against the computer with great graphics. It keeps track of your record and playing strength and has an on-line manual with history of go, where to buy books ...

Re: Cross-platform password manager recommendations?
When I moved to a Mac last summer I installed 1password on my Mac and iPad, but its not available for Linux and you have to buy separate licenses for different pcs. My second choice was Lastpass. It's been vetted extensively since in addition to the free personal version and the inexpensive portable ...

There's an update out for the app. Maybe you tried during the shift from the old version to the latest one.

Some of the browser alternatives have free versions so you can experiment before buying the paid version.

I use Atomic Browser because you can identify it as a desktop browser and avoid mobile sites which are designed for phones. There are some other browsers that also have this feature.

Re: That's exactly what the other shrink said.
Joaz - here's my question 5 - how many days does Britten experience? He's there for his wife and son everyday so it seems he leads a 14 day week. At first I thought he wasn't really sleeping but then his wife talked about him tossing and turning. I'm behind schedule though - I have several episodes ...

Re: Crazy Stone Software
My understanding about the new IPad is that the additional processing power is devoted to the retina graphics so if I'm correct then the game power would be the same. I'll be curious to learn what your experience is.

Re: The New iPad
I upgraded from an iPad 2. I'm loving the improved screen resolution and the 64 gigs of storage (up from 16 gigs). As a major bonus my iPad 2 goes home with my son after his visit next month. He lives on the other side of the planet and now we'll be able to do video chats. Maybe I'll give him a Go ...

Re: Piracy in the Go industry.
I would add to Peter's questions this one: how many of the pirates who need to support themselves would accept not being paid for their work? After all, writing may be an art but it's also a job.
