Re: GoUniverse (New KGS client)
Should enable coordinates when watching games, and disable them when playing games, by default.
Since its practically impossible to kibitz without coordinates, yet not really used for anything while playing on self, except maybe teaching games.

Re: Understanding
Here is my personal history of go.
But before that, some relevant background. At the age of 25 I had an accident and hurt my head. Ever since I've been chronically sleep deprived, no matter how much I sleep Im always tired. Maybe because of this my generic memory is bottom 10% of the population ...

Re: Heart rate when playing go.
Occasionally I can feel my heart racing during a game, and when I look at a monitor I notice my heart rate is barely over 100. At other times I just feel intense focus and my heart rate hovers around 140.

Re: How strong is it possible for most people to become?
As for me, I am convinced that starting go later in life has been a limiting factor. While being smart has something to do with go ability, I am sure that there are people who are as smart as I am but are much stronger or much weaker than me. I have been playing at 5k for a few years. Is this the ...

Re: Two much appreciated improvements in latest app update
It wasn't constrained by 19x19 board size, but by resolution. Your screen was too accurate for their background board image. My phones QWXGA made it practically impossible to do the tsumegos because they covered only 1/4 of the screen space or so, on 5.5" device. Good luck trying to hit any ...

The wbaduk pc client will update automatically when you start it, but you need to run it in admin mode. After the update it should work again.

Re: Path to 9Dan, step by step.
Its good to see you using the thickness. But most of the time the use of thickness doesn't result in killing opponent. And we all know you should not make manually territory with it. What thickness gives you is control over any altercation nearby, you get to decide where to play and usually opponent ...

wbaduk dan ranks compared to other servers
According to sensei's, maximum self set rank on wbaduk is 4dan, so how do the ranks above that compare with say kgs ranks or tygem ranks?
Sure thereis the worldwide rank comparison on sensei's, but Im not sure its up to date.

Automatic scoring, no more marking dead groups.
WBaduks new client automatically calculates the score at the end of the game, no more marking dead groups. But can one truly rely on it for complex L&D. Does anyone have information on how it works?

Re: Heart rate when playing go.
Activities that can provoke increase or decrease in heart rate include physical exercise, sleep, anxiety, stress, illness, ingesting, and drugs. Haven't you notice your heart rate increase when you nearly have an automobile accident or when watching a scary movie? The heart rate increase provides ...

Heart rate when playing go.
I recently bought a wristband that measures my heartbeat 24/7. Since I bought it in order to track my sleep, I sort of as a joke marked my go games as "exercise" since it had the functionality for that, and I wanted to try it out. And its not like I actually do any cardio training or some such for ...

Re: Komi Bidding from "End of Game under AGA..."
With komi bidding (or pie rule) games should be considered totally even for rating purposes. That's the whole point of bidding/split rules
komi is discrete, hence it wouldnt be "totally" fair. say with 6.5 komi black has slight advantage, with 7.5 komi white has slight advantage. however, if you ...
