Re: Pocket Goban

My bowl solution has arrived. Time will have to tell how it works, on the outset here's the info. (sorry for the absence of pictures, they will come as soon as I can.)

I found some nice bags at Dragon Chow Dice Bags: http://www.dragonchow.com/zencart/" . The design looked exactly like ...

Re: Pocket Goban

msgreg,

Thanks for the response. The ziplock containers I got are a bit larger by the looks of it. I tried stacking them and going the way you have depicted, it just didn't work well. I think I may have gotten the "bowl" issue taken care of. But that's still on a we'll see basis. So, until I find ...

Re: Did I suddenly get worse?

I, personally, went from ? to 30k to 19k in about a week. I did get stronger during that time, but it was mostly the system figuring out where I was at. I played a 2 stone handicap game and wound up at 20k after playing a match against a 21k. That was my first handicap game, and like you boy did I ...

Re: Pocket Goban

Xed_Over,

I actually did buy some of those containers. The problem is that even their smallest ones are too big to carry conveniently. Stones for a 9x9 are surprisingly few in number and small in volume.

Redbeard,

The pouch is a possibility I have considered as well. I think I'm going to try and ...

Pocket Goban

I got an idea to make a small goban for quick games during meals. I hope maybe I can get some folks I frequently eat with to play a game or two, maybe even take an interest.

I carry around a murse full of all other manner of goodies so adding in this little package is hardly noticed. It'd be easy ...

Are we going to give it a shot for this Friday?

Re: New Idea

Saturday nights are a no go for me. I have prep work to do Saturday nights. Sorry man. But, if the two of you can/want to, I'm ok with that.

God bless,
Adam

EDIT: You'll keep up just fine I'm sure.

Re: New Idea

Galaga,

If you don't mind let us know what your preferences are time/day wise and we can start from there. Look forward to learning along side you.

Have a good one and God bless,

Re: New Idea

If that is what you want to do, by all means. I can try 9:00, it's just that, as I said, it can be an iffy proposition at times. We could at least try it out for a week and if I never show up adjust it from there I appreciate what you're doing a lot and hate to have you on call for such a chunk of ...

Re: New Idea

9:00 is ok for me, I may be late/absent at times but we can see how it goes. Tonight is good for me, again, 9:00 is a we'll see kind of thing. I have a regular appointment on Fridays that goes until anywhere between 8 and 9, and if it finishes at 9 I will likely be doing a bit of running around for ...

Re: New Idea

A ten-o-clock start on the days mentioned would work best for me. But that's only half of things. ACGalaga, what's best for you?

Re: New Idea

They don't have to be anything special, I have gone through one and am on my second. The only reason the first one died was several occasions when I forgot I had it on and tried to leave the computer. I finally messed up the cord badly. Other than that a cheap one will do fine for voice chat.

God ...

Yes, it does require a mic. Just figured I'd offer since text communication can be tedious at times.

Re: New Idea

Sounds good to me. If you need/desire/are able, I have a Teamspeak server which I own. I don't mind if we (you myself, and whoever else may join in) use it for this purpose. I have two requests if we do so. 1) No profanity, 2) Only use it during the designated times, I use it as a place for meetings ...
