That is correct. It will still need an OpenCL device, normally a gpu but also supported by some cpus (although that will be relatively slow).Marcel Grünauer wrote: In this discussion there has been mention of an OpenCL version, so I assume that doesn't require CUDA etc., right?

Re: Unfinished Symphony
Anders Kierulf did release details of the smartgo book format at http://www.smartgo.com/blog/20130710.htm , so it should be possible to create a viewer for any platform. I would investigate it myself if I had time, though another barrier is having no example files to test with.

Re: how to open .sh files in Windows 7?
It's from here.
ftp://ftp.joyjoy.net/go/games/
I have no idea what to do now. Can I convert it to something?.
I added an edit with some more information. It's literally a program containing all the text of the games etc., and all the program does is write that text to some files ...

Re: how to open .sh files in Windows 7?
.sh usually refers to a shell script, quite probably bash . If so, you can open it in notepad to see what's in it.
I don't know why or how a set of games would be in a shell script file though. Where are they from?
Edit: I found what's presumably the same file and downloaded it to have a look. The ...

Re: noGo (open-source android goban) released on Google Play
Hmm, I guess it got stuck in horizontal tablet mode even though the screen is portrait. Some of the way it does this is a bit new in the current release version, so maybe I missed something that causes the problem!
Did you try switching tablet modes in the official release (not the debug one I ...

Re: noGo (open-source android goban) released on Google Play
I uploaded a test apk at m , if you have time would you be able to check if that one has the strange behaviour?
It's a straight build of the current dev version that's partway through some major internal changes, so it wil crash if you try to use it normally, but it you should be able to start it ...

Re: noGo (open-source android goban) released on Google Play
There seems to be a problem for me with the latest update. I couldn't get a screenshot, but it's like everything is magnified and I only get a partial view of the start-up screen
Oh, strange, I don't know what would cause that. When you say the start-up screen, do you mean it loads successfully ...

Re: To find the correct SGF of an old game
Didn't gogod do the same thing in copying pro moves and selling them?
I have no idea what the actual copyright law result is/should be, but the major difference is that GoGoD would/do receive rights based on their cataloguing and recording to create a new collected work. In contrast, merely ...

Re: To find the correct SGF of an old game
Thanks you very much!
The version 2 is clearly wrong. Move 169 is absurd (must be at C4, otherwise why on earth white plays C3 next?)
It is a surprise that GoGoD puts apparently incorrect SGF in the collection when there's an alternative. Some other online collections either shared the incorrect ...

Re: To find the correct SGF of an old game
Thanks for that. That is game #3 from the 3-game match between the two players. I am looking for game #1 played on 20th May.
Oh, sorry! I missed the date and had the colours the wrong way around...apparently Wang Qun was playing white?
In that case, GoGoD has two versions and a note that they're ...

Here's the version in GoGoD, though I don't know what version it is transcribed from.

What a strange set of symptoms, I'll have to think about it. Thanks very much for the detailed information though, it helps a lot to narrow it down.

Re: noGo (open-source android goban) released on Google Play
When select Create new board, app crash immediately if I don't select goban size or if I choose to leave blank to create empty board.
This bug isn't fixed.
Well darn. That makes me strongly suggest a permissions problem...are you able to create new games in the existing collections ...

I was also sceptical, but the nexus 7 turns out to be great for playing online.
