yes that's what I meant ... not solve the problem just play the other side when we try to solve it ... maybe it doesn't exist yet ?xiangz wrote:Maybe MLC means the app has the AI to solve the problem. EasyGo can't do that, you have to input the solution manually.

SmartGo Kifu question
Can you input a problem position in SmartGo Kifu and then have it play the other side against you when you try to solve it ? Can you do this with EasyGo or Champion Go HD ?

Re: Crazy Stone Software
I'm curious what KGS kyu levels the iPad version corresponds to. I think a previous poster (2 kyu?) said he could beat it easily on level 10 (of possible 12). I know this is guesswork, but I'm curious ... what's your best guess of how iPad CrazyStone levels 1 to 12 would map onto KGS kyu ratings ?

That says almost nothing about the percentage of computers that are infected. For the purposes of this study, if that corporation has 999 computers with no infection and 1 that's infected, that will count as being affected by the botnet.

Re: guessing right too often ! ?
but if you want to get better and understand why the right answer is right and why the wrong answer is wrong, then you've got to take the time to explore all the options -- trying to play the best response for each color at each step.

guessing right too often ! ?
When I give up on a Go problem I take a guess before looking at the answer. A surprising number of these guesses are right but I don't consciously know why I'm making these choices! Does this happen to anyone else? It's kind of neat but kind of strange ...

please don't say I think anyone who isn't paranoid about this probably doesn't understand it very well . I do understand it and feel no paranoia. Re: which iPad app plays strongest most human-like Go ?
I'm sure he meant reinstall iOS and then all the apps on top of that. It's a pain but it's recoverable.
I really know nothing about iOS . I don't know if "restore" just copies the system files over or if it first does a bitwise wipe of the drive including MBR ( or whatever that's called on ...

Re: which iPad app plays strongest most human-like Go ?
The latest roots have been caused by specially crafted PDFs, and there are no PDF ads (as far as I know). You can always reinstall everything in your iPad every week, in case you are really worried. Nothing prevents a 3rd party app of being rooted, or showing ads just like Safari does.

I could be wrong but I think you can get rooted by clicking on one bad link or even by loading a commercial news site that has a compromised ad appearing on their page.oren wrote: That is quite a high level of paranoia.

Re: which iPad app plays strongest most human-like Go ?
I don't think there's a specific app for DGS on the ipad, but at least on android tablets, I've used the web interface and have had no problems. It only really makes a difference on phone sized screens in my opinion.

Re: time limit per move ?
But is what you find frustrating the average length of the moves, or the maximum possible length? The set-up of time controls for Go is premised on the idea that you want to have the freedom to play your average moves at a nice clip, but then spend much more time analyzing the most important moves ...

I just played CrazyStone and a game on Tetsuki. Is there an iPad client for DGS ? couldn't find one and don't want to see what a phone app would look like on a tablet.

I was wondering if KGS offers a "time limit per move" filter for game selection ?
If so, is it easy to find beginner level games with low time limits per move (say 1 or 2 minutes max) ?
