Where might I find go books in korea?

So through a summer program I will have the opportunity to visit Korea during July.
I'll be visting Pohang, Seoul, Daejeon and Jeju Island. I was wandering if anyone could give me some advice on finding some go related souvenirs? Would I have a good chance of finding some books in a standard ...

Re: rhubarb's random stuff

New resolution: play komoku in every corner.

I'm too comfortable with 4-4, and too uncomfortable with komoku. Plus, asymmetric moves will force me to think more carefully about direction in the opening.

Signed up for the ASR League for June. Maybe that'll get me playing more. On the other hand ...

Re: How do you study go books?

After this opening, white usually approaches at a,b,c,d or e with a being the most common.
Understanding (not knowing, there's a big difference) all the 3-4 approach joseki would put me at a significant advantage against my opponent because I can choose a joseki to play which will give me a result ...

Re: How do you study go books?

Do you have a source for the Talleyrand quote?

Oh, and a tip for anyone who uses foez's method of studying diagrams: single-convex stones! So much easier to do variations.
Of course there is something to be said for either
a)remembering the position you diverged from joseki at. And then just ...

Re: How do you study go books?

@TIM82
That seems like a good idea. How do you decide what parts to read? Especially since the joseki dictionary I've seen are organized around coordinates(3-3,3-4,3-5 etc.) Say the 21st century dictionary of basic joseki(2 volumes). If you read cover to cover in order. You would only have key ...

Re: How do you study go books?

Hey all,

I recently received my order of 3 different go books with the determination of mastering their contents quickly so I can improve fast!
However, I find it much more difficult to work through them than I expected.

The first book I'm working through is one that is particularly useful for me ...

Re: How to play games ?

I was told once that 1 game reviewed is worth 2 or more played. Try an learn from every game. Naturally this would slow down a pace of back-to-back games but it's more important to step back and understand why you won or lost and what you or your opponent could have done better, even ...

Re: Ruinatio Go

Review hidden to avoid biasing anyone.
I played through about 10 levels on hard(took ~5minutes) and tried the ruination and one color variant briefly.

Personally I found the game rather boring. But that might just mean this isn't palatable to go players. I know I've wasted a lot of time on ...

Re: Three Month Trial (Hailthorn's Third Journal)

I was intrigued by the idea of spending 8 hours in a single day devoted to Go, so I did that today (maybe more) to see how it was. I'm not going to lie, there were times, particularly in games, where I felt my attention lapse. But it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. But then again, that's ...

Re: Getting over your wall.

Sure, a slam dunk might be considered a fundamental at some basketball level, but if you don't have the hops, you might need to hit the weight room.
True, so do you mean that it is the execution of the concept not the concept itself that is(might be) the problem when facing a wall. For example ...

Re: Getting over your wall.

I here from a lot of players at club that you usually hit a wall around 5k. How do you get over said wall, and have you guys experienced this?

On IGS, I am about 5kyu, it does seem that there is a bit of a wall.

I don't necessarily know the answer, but some things I have tossed around are.

A ...

Re: A Series Of Questions

This will simply be a series of questions designed to get to know more about each player and their playing styles. It's something that I've been curious about. Sorry if it's a lame post, but I figure SOMEONE might enjoy it, and it's been awhile since I created a topic.

1. Do you prefer playing ...
