The Cephalogue
I wrote a blog entry on Go this week. Maybe some of you will find it interesting. Usually I focus on filtering mind opening and perspective broadening ideas through a philosophical, scientific and artistic lens. Each post has a 'Take', a recommendation and a video. Recently I've been discussing New ...

Not creative, but definitely Gu Li and Lee Sedol. You cannot deny how amazing their games are. And they play so often too. I think we're lucky to be in the midst of it. A very even match up, two extremely interesting styles, always exciting games. Quadruple Ko. What more could you ask for?

One American and one Canadian. Pretty damn cool. I wonder if I'll be able to catch them on Baduk TV.

Wow, this tournament is huge. Is it like an open or something? Anyone know more specifics about how it works?

Re: Honinbo/Gosei
sorry, unable to save it myself, but for as much as I did watch, it was awsome having Cornell commenting. My thoughts on the first half are 'damn that corner is tricky!' I'm just curious how much it will end up effecting the rest of the board, how far will that conflict spill out? This is a nice ...

Re: Honinbo/Gosei
... he'll sweep Hane Naoki.
I'd never count Hane Naoki out until the last dame. Remember the 2008 Honinbo? He was down 3-0 in best of seven. He then beat Takao 4 straight to take the title.
wow that's impressive. In big team sports that's only happened 4 times (thrice in hockey, once in baseball ...

Honinbo's all tied up. Epic game 7 on it's way next week. Who's excited? Do you think it'll make it past the first day? And what do people think about the games so far?

Sad but true Gorim. This kind of thing happens in a lot of sports. There's always more stories of people who almost made it than people who did.

oh, this is a cool thread. Reading is great!
Fantasy is certainly one of my favs. I prefer the gritty so I'm a big fan of Martin, Erikson and Donaldson.
As far as classics, I constantly find myself going back to Yasunari Kawabata. Even in translation his genius is profound. If I were to learn ...

Thanks illuck, that was awsome. I woke up in the middle of the night and watched part of that game, so it's awsome to see the commentary. Pretty sick game, very close. It's funny, for me, the players make impressively awesome moves, to the reviewers the players either proper or making mistakes!

I just want to add that I am also a happy gogameguru customer. Living in the eastern US, on demand is way more convenient for me anyway. It is fun every once in a while staying up and trying to watch, but it's unrealistic. Here, the LG coverage went from 12am-6am. BC card cup was the same.

Welcome! What kind of music do you like? (I've a serious weakness for classical )
A large variety. I am a very big fan of metal(especially progressive, grindcore and black metal). I also love classical music, particularly late classical period/romantic and modern, specifically 1960's and 70's ...
