Java security problem
I'm surprised that no one has asked or commented about the Java security problem that people seem to be worried about. And surprised to see that traffic on Java-based servers hasn't really changed all that much. They say people should actually uninstall Java from their systems, is this another Y2K ...

upload games in Tetsuki?
Hello all, thank you lobotommy for suggesting this forum.
I have a bunch of sgf files I want to put on my iPod. Can I look at them in Tetsuki? How do I upload them? I can't find that function.
Thanks!

Re: How do you look st sgf files on the iPod Touch?
This should go to computer section.
SmartGo Kifu and EasyGo are best. If you want import large number of games at once as zip then EasyGo. SmartGo Kifu also allows you to open/import sgf games but one at a time. It's not an issue because there is over 40 000 of games already installed with this ...

What's your favorite Symposium talk?
Have you visited the site for this year's International Go Symposium http://www.gosymposium.org/recordings.html? There are videos of more than twenty talks there on a wide rage of historical, cultural, educational and scientific themes. Which one do you like best?

Do you "like" the Iwamoto Go Centers?
Regular readers know that The Seattle Go Center is suing the Nihon Ki-in over its decision to sell the building that has housed it since its inception. The Nihon Ki-in says they are doing this to support The New York Go Center, but the unilateral manner in which the decision was made raises ...

Re: Yoshi Sawada
I also have to add that I will miss Yoshi very much. He was one of my favorite people at the Congress for many years. He was a great showman, and he used his talent to express his love for go, and for the people who play go. He was a tennis pro, but I never saw him on the courts. He was busy with ...

Re: Does go make you smarter?
If concepts are tools for thinking, go has added many concepts to my vocabulary -- aji, miai, sabaki to name a few. I believe I am able to think thoughts that I could not without encountering these concepts, kind of like the limits mathematicians had before someone hit on the idea of "zero".

Re: Wherefore art thou Romeo?
I've been curious about this subject too!
I am extremely interested in introducing Go to Western culture, I think of myself as a kind of "Johnny Appleseed." I'm told that "Kibi" is a legendary figure in Japan, a minister to the Emperor who visited China, learned Go, and brought it back to Japan ...

Re: Do you regularly read non-go books?
In that case I'll be one of the first to vote.... yes I do read non-go books, but not regularly... I used to, then I ended up reading all the good ones... and going to the library is such a hassle, not to mention the fees they are putting out now. Somewhere around 50-75 cents per book per day that ...

Re: Do you hate playing an all 4-4 game?
FWIW: As Black I always play 4-4 in the upper right corner. That will probably never change. For years I played only san-ren-sei as Black because Micheal Redmond likes that opening, but it got stale. Lately I've been having more luck with the Chinese. Very recently, I've begun playing diagonal ...
