Hi, I am just travelling south of Norway for few more weeks and got an urge to play a game or more. Is there any english written list of go clubs or other places where I could hope to play the game if I come arround?
Now I am in Vassenden, but location does not really matters much.

Re: KGS vs. EGF rank
Yeah. The level of EGF rank is quite country dependent. For example in Czech Republic is known that our kyu players are level or two stronger than German players with same rank.
Btw I'm EGF 12k and KGS 6k, deal with it.

Hezi (nickname of Jan Hora) plays in Go Braon finals this weekend. He battles with Czech champion Ondrej Silt. First one to gain three wins will win 2 oz of gold. The second one will leave with 1 oz of gold.

Re: Kifu project
I've already found such application for android too. It has poor interface and doesn't work without internet connection (because it looks like all the work with picture is done on a server). And result of counting was really bad too.
The server solver could be seen as an option:

Re: Kifu project
I know there is at least one iphone application that claims to be able to give a game's count from a picture. I don't remember the name and it didn't work correctly.

Re: Disdain for Internet Go
Recently I can play a lot of games in person, so I gave up on my KGS account. On KGS I just feel a I can't get focused and serious.
Re: XKCD
Recently I heard one of czech players talking about go in radio. He said something like: "When you first play go you feel like a genius, next you feel like a total idiot and in the end you start like it."

If you don't mind playing more games at one time, I'd like you to accept my invitation to next game too.

Re: What's your goproblems rank compared to your usual serve
I have 8k on goproblems.com and 12k time trial doesn't look too hard. Just now I'm EGF 14k and DGS 12k.
I think the most significant thing for me is that in actual game I'm just overlooking many possibilities, which are pointed out in problems.

One strong friend of mine showed me this one in local pub. I wasn't able to solve it that time.
