Every month, my job-related go friends gather at a Chinese restaurant in Tokyo, and we play go while eating Chinese dishes.
For your information, every one of us is Japanese.
The owner knows go and is kind enough to let us play.
The intresting part of this picture is that the table is a half of a ...

Re: Project Shodan, KGS nick - Vladimir
I'm KGS 2d, sometimes 1d, sometimes 3d, never 4d.
If you find me, don't hesitate to challenge me, I'LL accept gladly.
I also play turn-based go (correspondent go) at OGS.
(OGS rating is much harder than KGS.)
This is a very good way for a busy person who cannot take a long time for go at one time.

Re: Japanese Hand Fan Kanji
As for Stone rubbing, please read the following.
m
The youtube video that tchan001 linked (thanks!) shows the professor putting ink on the wet paper,(not on the stone) to copy the image.
According to wiki jp, that's the common way.
The primitive way I mentioned, which is called 直接拓(direct rubbing ...

As a Japanese who also speaks Chinese, I would like to comment on this topic.
Yes, you're right, printed on the fan is the Heart Sutra( m ), with Japanese way of reading next to each Kanji (Chinese Character).
The sutra is writen on the navy blue paper with golden ink.

Re: My experience at SWA Dan Certification Tournament
I was really impressed with your report.
Especially the part there were many dan level children there.
The future of go (weiqi) in your country is bright.

Re: Size of stone
I've owned several sets of go stones. This is the one I'm currently using. It's size 38, and it feels good, though you need to practice for a while to play with such thick stones. (The white is, of course, made out of shells. Presumably mexican.)

Welcome to L19!
I'm goona get a widows tablet, if my wife says yes, which I doubt.
She wants an iPad, for she's using iPhone5 64G right now.
Since there is no reason for KGS to kick Mac fans out, new application will come up pretty soon, I guess.

57.
My wife is 16 years younger than me, 41.
We look younger, don't we?
Both of us feel like highschool lovers.
As I learned how to play go at the age of 6, amazingly half a century has already passed, without really making me very strong.

Hi from Tokyo, Japan, and about my changed avatar
Hi, I've posted a few comments, and then I realized, it would be appropriate to formerly introduce myself as other members have done.
My name is solomonko here and at KGS (2d).
I learned how to play go when I was 6 years old, by watching my grandfather and my uncle play.
Our family has a tradition ...

Re: "Endgame for Go World Magazine After 35 Years"
Now the time has come.
Go wold is to end.
I've been expeciting this.
The internet is faster, less expensive.
But nevertheless, I feel sorry for its end.
Goodbye, Go World.
And thank you all, the people devoted to this project.
Your efforts made American go stronger.
