Re: How to improve reading ability ? 1K+
EdLee I meant external. If we are at the same level +/- 1 stone, we could play long games together. I can play 1 long/serious game once a month, in the weekend. If others are interested we might be able to schedule games here. I would like to play 2k to 1D KGS player in long games (1h+ per player ...

Re: How to improve reading ability ? 1K+
I can solve problems where you have to read 10+ moves but in a game I think that I do not read more than 2-3 moves most of the time. I play relatively fast games on KGS (10 to 25min per player) so there is not much time to read. It would be better to play with 1 hour or more but on internet it is ...

Re: How to improve reading ability ? 1K+
Thank you everybody for your answers.
Dante, by a lot of tsumego I mean around 20-50 per day, nearly everyday. I do more or less depending of the difficulty of the book I am reading. Right now I am doing this one: m I do around 80-90% right depending of the chapters but I guess I don't solve them ...

How to improve reading ability ? 1K+
I am KGS 1K since over 2 years now and I hit a wall especially with improving my reading ability. I am doing a lot of tsumego of various levels of difficulty but I am not making progress or maybe very very slow progress.
Is there a method about improving reading ability rather than just doing a ...

Re: tips tsumego books ?
The fourth book of the series "Graded Go Problems for Dan players" is much harder. At 1K KGS, I can solve all the 6D problems and a lot of of the 7D but I generally need more time than what is expected. Even if the level of the tsumego is really inflated, I am sure you will have some fun with this ...
Re: Yuan Zhou
As a 1K/1D KGS, I really enjoyed Yuan Zhou books. I'm not sure those books (master's styles) are written to make people get stronger but they are interesting and fun because you can get a grasp of how pro are thinking and discover very different effective styles of play. You can even try to guess ...

Re: Review of "The Direction of Play"
I tried to read it a few times but at my level (KGS 2K when I read it), I found that this book did not help me. Unless you already know a ton of joseki, I don't think this book will help you to make progress in the fuseki or other any parts of the game. You might think you are playing in the right ...

Re: Weiqi Life and Death 1000 Problems ( å´æ£æ»æ´» 1000 é¡ )
I have a book from the same author, Wang Zhipeng (a version with only the 500 life and death problems). I'm KGS 2K, and the 1 star are easy, 2 stars relatively easy but I have to read for most of them, the 3 stars are pretty hard but I can still solve most them and the 4 stars are really very very ...
