In round 3, she will face the current title holder, Yamada Kimio 9p
I think Kobayashi Izumi did it earlier in 2002 NHK. She beat Kato ...

Re: Goushou
She is now 2:0 in the Guoshou league, winning against Zhou Junxun on Sunday. Has anyone a kifu of that game? (She is 2:4 in the Qiwang league, which is a respectable result for the first league entry imo.)

Ms. Missingham went for another league. This time she won the winner section of the 7th Guoshou (National Champion). She beat Huang Xiangren (5 dan) at the final preliminary. She'll play in a 8 people league.

Re: Looking for a better opening
I have been opening with 2 3/4 stones and I am trying to find a stronger territorial open for black. Any ideas? I have hit a wall in my game and I think that changing up the opening might help me get a little bit further ahead.
try 3-4 and 4-4 opening.
if you like territory, see Kobayashi Koichi ...

Re: Change is afoot
pardon me if I ask this in the wrong place, but Xie made it to the top 10 in earning list, yet Suzuki Ayumi and Iwamaru Taira were the two promoted based on the earnings. how do they count the earnings? does earning from teaching/events (teaching/simul games) also added to the promotion criteria?
