Re: Eternal Life?

Yes, you're right. I hadn't see the one point balance unfavourable for black. A shame. It came so close to being a reason to open that bottle over there...

Re: Eternal Life?

I don't know, but I think probably not. The cycle could go on forvever, but white gains an extra prisoner each time round so it should end when white has enough points to win despite black living.

Hmmm... I agree! So it's a very big life cycle, but not eternal. I can't buy all those vegetables ...

Re: Eternal Life?

But in this case, white must respond to black, otherwise black kills the group.

Eternal Life?

Hi there! I've recently found an article about Eternal Life here , and I remembered a similar position I found in a game of mine. At the time, we decided to consider that position a seki, but now I wanted your opinion.

Re: Do you count?

I rarely count. in fact my estimating is so poor on occasion I will win games by 10+ points that I am sure I am losing in the opposite extreme.

I just feel I never have time. I think it would take me a 60-90 seconds to count up the score and combined with my thoughts on my next move this would be ...

Re: Do you count?

I found out that, in late yose, I can figure out who's ahead if the difference in score is >20. Bellow that, I need to count.

Which I never do, by the way :|

Do you count?

Hi there!

I have a friend that is around 1d (considerably better than me, though) and once told me that he had never count during a game.

Sometimes I face a situation in which I have to choose either to reduce or invade an opponent's moyo. The best course of action is, of course, to count the ...

Re: Curious

Today someone also told me about Josekipedia. Two things I didn't knew and that will help me greatly: Josekipedia and DailyJoseki.

Thanks.

Re: Curious

I didn't knew dailyjoseki. It is a great resource. Thanks.

I was actually talking about F16, which no one had ever played against me before. It caught me off guard. I thought I could leave G16 as is, but F15 would be top notch.

Thanks.

Curious

Hi there!

I've played a 7 stone game with a friend who is just starting to learn Go. To my first stone, he made a curious reply. I felt it was wrong, and I can't find it in any joseki, but I can't actually see if it is "that" wrong, so I wanted to discuss it with you.

Greetings

Hi there! I've started playing go about a year ago, but only dedicated myself to it from last September. I'm currently 11k at KGS and 13k at Dragon. And I'm from Portugal. I've read a lot of posts, and today I had a question and registered.

And I think that's it :)

Cheers.
